    Me and my wife are going to start camping this year. We have our RTT and most of our gear set, just a free let things to buy. Any good recommendations for great Texas camping? We are in College Station, thinking about starting in Colorado Bend State Park. It’s only about 3 hrs from home and tons of hiking trails. Thanks for y'all's input!

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
    Been there. Awesome park, if you have bicycles - take them, superb trails, some a little tougher than others yet cool off-road type bike trails, lots of shade along the river and then there's the waterfall - don't miss that.

    Garner is nice too. Lake Sommerville is sweet and closer to you. Highland Lakes are superb as well and worth the drive: http://www.highlandlakes.com/texasparks.htm
