Installing my Pop&Lock on my 2020 Pro. Easy tailgate install, easy wire run...now the instructions have me hooking into a red and a white wire....and a video on you tube said that the directions were incorrect....to use different wires.???
Has anyone installed one of these on a 2020?

The reason I’ve known the pop n lock directions to be incorrect is because they state to run along driver side and it should state passenger. As far as which wires, good luck..we all had to figure that one out...if I were you I’d try it, no real harm when using t-taps...

Here's a picture of the wires, but not from a 2020. Maybe this will point you in the right direction though.

That picture was not from my install, but mine utilized the same 2 wires (2017 Limited).

Hmm, ok, we’ll at least my directions say to run wires down the passenger side!
I’m hooking up after work...I’ll post what I find out!

This is from my 2012. Blue and white seem to be pretty universal, but the blue wire in mine has a silver band.

So the Pop&Lock install is complete and working perfectly! Install is super easy....and now that we have a conformation on wiring...even easier!
The You Tube video was correct!!!
    DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!
It is blue to white, red to green. Here is a screenshot of the video, followed by my truck. So, for 2020, works great, follow this wiring!

How does the pop and lock compare to the Toyota lock?

I’ve found the Toyota one for $135 and the pop and lock is $92 so a little bit of $$ But would you say the quality is on par with the Toyota? As I’ve gotten older I quit buying cheapest cause it’s cheapest but get stuff that will work and not give me hassle.
    Thanks.

I installed the popular $90 pop n lock on my truck. I have also seen and held the actual Toyota kit.

The Toyota kit comes in larger box, with individual parts sealed in plastic bags. The Toyota kit actually plugs into the existing harness (no tapping or splicing into wiring). There are no instructions in the box, but a pdf can be downloaded that is step by step. The kit appears to be high quality, with everything feeling durable. The wiring looks to be cut precisely for the truck, and the kit includes rubber grommets that the aftermarket kit does not, as well as a greater number of zip ties. I have not installed the Toyota kit.

The aftermarket kit (again, I installed it on my truck) feels very durable/high quality as well. It comes in a smaller retail-type package, and it includes good instructions (for a 2018). It provides longer wires and therefore greater flexibility for installation. The kit includes t taps, which I personally do not care for. I use posi taps, and I discarded the t taps. I also added several zip ties when I installed. The kit comes with a few, but they should include 5-6 more IMO.

I am hoping to help install the Toyota kit soon, and then I can compare ease of install.

if you are particular about using only factory Toyota parts, you can pay the extra $35 and feel good. I think the $90 kit is absolutely good quality, install was not hard, and the kit fit perfectly and works great. I will also add that I lined all of the body metal around the actuator with sound deadening to reduce the hollow metallic clunk noise caused by the operation of the actuator. I would advise anyone doing an install to do likewise!

Think “shaking a golf ball in a gas can” loud.

This^^. Add wire and couple of T-Taps and you're set. I did it this way on my prior two Tundras. My 2019 Tundra came with the Pop-N-Lock installed by the dealer. Actual Pop-N-Lock kit, not the Toyota version.
