TSS existed exclusively in the GST region prior to toyota safety sense ever existing. it originally showed up on the tacoma's in the early teen's.

also to add they also have a texax edition package exclusive to the GST region also.

    Toyota Sport Series Edition
    -Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip
    -Door Sill Enhancements.
    -18 Inch Enkei Wheel Upgrade
    -Running Boards
    -Custom Carpeted Floor Mats
    -Toyota Sport Series Edition Badging

edit : i have seen references to TSS on tacoma/tundra's in the GST region as early as the late 2000's.

Wanted to add to the discussion. I bought a xsp-x a few years ago. You all are right a gussied up sr5 with a 38 gallon fuel tank. I bought mine new/used with 30k miles for 35k so I'm not complaining. Same engine/transmission as platinum or 1794 and 20k cheaper. Just my 2 cents. But I enjoy the little extras that came with the truck. I get asked every day I drive it where did I get it from and what comes with the package. 20171223_153725.jpg 20171230_151055.jpg

^^That’s a good price, I got mine for 30k OTD with 88k miles 4x4 (yet again it is AZ trucks go over KBB here)

Super wrapped the front and rear bumper, added trd pro grill, changed the wheels for some methods. Shopping around for a lift right now since Amazon raised the price for their 6112&5160 was 720 for both now 800

Probably going with a fox 2.0 since I found some for 1k

I'm seeing the TSS models now running Duratracs. I believe they changed from KO2's in 2019.

When I was buying my '19 I literally saw both, Duratracs and KO2s on '19 models. The Duratracs were 275/55/20 and the KO2s were 285/55/20. Maybe there was a transition period in 19. I haven't looked at the '20s yet.

Here is a fun fact that may surprise you: There are more Tundras in Texas than all the other states combined. I see 100 Tundras per day on the road where I live and that is no exaggeration. They are everywhere. At least 75% of them are TSS. I bought a new TSS and thought I had something special until the next day when I saw at least 10 the same color as I have and that looked exactly like mine. When I travel to other states, I don't see very many Tundras.

By the way, I went to a local Toyota dealer here a few weeks ago and they have back lots (overflow lots) that have like 150 new Tundras on them. New Tundras as far as the eye can see.

Are you saying that wheel spacers needed to fit the tss wheels to a regular sr5 ?

No, the problem with the +50 offset is 11.5 is the widest tire you would want to run without spacers due to UCA clearance.

5% tint all around, 35% tinted windshield with a 5% brow, removed stickers/decals
My 2020 SR5 with TSS. Came with the black 20’s and duratracs, spray in bed liner, all black emblems, black exhaust tip, black trimmed headlights. This is the day I brought it home. It’s got tinted windows now (5% on all doors and back glass, 35% on the whole windshield) , and I pulled the TSS stickers off the bed. Just ordered the Bilsteins 5100’s for all 4 corners, all new Skar Audio speakers, and a flow master 40 series muffler. Wheels and tires will be ordered this week! Just peel it off by hand. Then use Goo Gone to get the residual glue off.

A heat gun makes it ridiculously easy, just don't get it hot and blister the paint. Hair dryer is probably enough.
