I'm running 0W20 full synthetic with a Toyota filter and after it warms up rolling about 60/65 the hand runs just under the half way mark on the Gauge. It will go up over half way under hard throttle. Is this pretty much where they run??? I'm not having any issues with ticking or anything and this is my first Toyota and the 5.7 So far I really like it.

As you accelerate the oil pump volume increases to lubricate top end valve train and the such. If it doesn’t increase then you can be concerned.

Good post. I wondered about that. Mine is the same. Never have heard any ticking from my engine. I have read posts saying that ticking on these 5.7’s is normal? In my experience, gas engine, Ticking=not good.

Ticking is the VVT. It’s somewhat normal for this engine, if it’s the right ticking.

    Truth ^^.

Just for some perspective. My 1997 Toyota T100 truck with the 3.4L V6's oil presssure moves like that described by the OP. Oh. At it also has the little VVT tick.
