So my 2017 Tundra won’t start. Engine turns over but won’t crank. 4hi and 4lo light flashes repeatedly on my dash. This is the third time doing this. Had it towed and It went away before it could be diagnosed. Not throwing a code that is left in the memory or anything. Anyone else had this issue please help.

how do you define crank vs turn over? If you mean speed of turning over then check the battery/cables

The starter turns the engine over but the truck won’t start. Plenty of battery juice.

Air, Fuel, or Spark....you need all 3. I would probably pull a plug and see if there’s spark. If there is, then squirt some fuel past the throttle plate and see if it tries to fire. Maybe I’d try fuel first, likely one or the other.

Wondering if the transfer case lever is getting stuck. If so then probably there is a software safety that won't let it start. Just a thought...

If only the 4hi and 4lo are flashing, it could be a bad switch on the 4wd knob. Try turning the knob back and forth, maybe it's stuck in between or not making good contact.

maybe put it in neutral and try to start it, then put it in 2wd or 4hi while in neutral.

got an updated chart? My 2018 has the 4Lo/4Hi lights flash together occasionally. Seems to only happen when in drive and foot on the brake. Shouldn’t have any relation though. Dealer has already changed the actuator, so who knows.
