Hello all. I am new here and I while did do a search I couldn't find what I was looking for. Everyone here knows that the center console of the Tundra is cavernous and dark. I cannot find any solutions to this issue. Has anyone here modded lighting for the interior of the console?

I'll have to find the link but I used a small USB led light that I got on Amazon. 2 for $10. Plugged it into the phone charger in the center console. Not great but cheap and easy.

I did try those and they didn't put out enough light to suit me so I went to 5 and Below and found some of that LED tape lighting and ran it around the perimeter of the console. and then plugged the USB port into the cigarette lighter power adapter. I would be happy with this since it does put out a lot of light but it is not sticking mostly because the lights were cheap. I am looking for something a bit more permanent but will live with this if it is the best option. I will try to grab a pic so that you can see how I did it. I guess I am just nit picky about it because I feel like this is something that should have been included from the factory.

Here is a pic of the solution I have now. The tape needs to be a little longer but that is as long as they had at the time. I can get some I can cut to size from Amazon.com but I wanted to try this first to see how it worked. Thoughts?

Flyzeye designs makes some awesome battery powered magnetic things. Browse their website. Put one in my center console and one on the lid of the upper glove box.

I think that is the best option for now and I will get some better lights with stronger adhesive that I can cut to size. I think I am going to get rid of that box that hangs in the center though. With my big ole meathooks its difficult to reach in an grab what I need if that is in the middle. If anyone has done a more permanent mod to light up their console, post some pics I would love to steal the idea and use as my own. Lol.

    Nice work?

Have you upgraded your interior lighting to LED? Dome lights? If not, by doing this you can add more available lighting.

FYI, I found a pic that shows some LEDs in Dome lights and how much they help.

I upgraded mine just picked some up from O'Reillys (was about $40 for the super brights-4 bulbs 2 in the front and 2 in the back) the change was amazing. I can actually see and even my wife (who doesn't notice or care about anything on my truck) noticed the difference.

The interior LEDs were the first thing I upgraded when I got the truck. They had LEDs installed already but there were an older type and not very bright. It has helped a ton. I will get some pics of some of the mods and post them up. Thanks to all for the suggestions and help. I found some of the LED tape this is sizable and can cut it to length for a more finished look. I also may wire them into the lighter adapter with an actual on/off switch.
