Found a few topics on this subject but wanted to get some opinions...

my charger is a 10A version but it's a struggle to get voltage to or above 12.1V before the BD tuner let's me reflash.

i want something that'll pump this to like 14V while charging.

    can i get some recommendations?

    thanks in advance

    JB

Am I understanding you correctly, I can use a battery charger / maintainer to switch tunes? All I have is an old, big stupid charger and it’s annoying to wrap everything up when I’m done

    Optimate 7 Select.

It has a mode where it will supply power to the ECU even without the battery connected to the engine harness.

    It is pricey.

I have one of these, because the way I see it, $160 for a charger is a heck of a lot cheaper than the money it costs for a new ECU, not to mention the programming required on it. You can top your battery off with the OptiMate, then put it in "PS" mode when you are programming. Make sure your AC/blower/lights/etc. are all off when programming.
