About to pull the plug a 2019 Highlander XLE AWD, been driving Toyota trucks for 24 years, but the wife always liked the hondas been driving those for 30 years , had a prelude, 3 accords and our trade in is a 2014 CRV_EX. I'm done with Honda don't want any turbo and dealer experience has not been great, as opposed to my Toyota dealer for the last 17 years has be excellent.

Toyota has great financing right now @.99%, the Highlander drives really nice and is very smooth. I know the 2020 is coming but the deal on the 2019 is hard to pass up.
No kids just me and the wife a a couple dogs.

Any of you guys have a 2017+ highlander to share any thoughts, Thanks!!

We have a 19 for about 6 months
    Love it !
Great riding vehicle very comfortable. Front wheel drive v6 gets about 23 mpg in town got 28 on highway.
Last year should be very reliable

I've watched a lot of them on the road because the wife has an old RX330 Lexus, that is essentially a Highlander from back in the day, and needs to get something newer. Front wheel drive just breaks the deal for me on any vehicle. She had the RX before we got married. But they look nice and all. I wouldn't get rid of my truck though FWIW.

Yes I like to get the last model year; my CRV has been good.
I was looking at a used RX 350 but with the deal its better to get a new Highlander and it is a AWD here in Canada nobody wants a FWD.

And my 2016 tundra limited is not going anywhere anytime soon!

Sounds like you got a plan. Go for it. My wife is hung up on the Lexus brand. I've almost got her to realize they are the same except for the accoutrements and styling. Wish she would get a 4 runner. That way if I have to work in it, it's much easier. We don't have the need down here for AWD unless you are just looking for a mud hole to drive through

My wife has a 2017 Highlander and she loves it. In May we took it on a 3,200 mile trip and it did excellent.

I honestly prefer the 19 body style over the ‘20

If she likes Honda get her a Pilot. We love ours. Drove both for extended test drives. Highlander felt heavy and had old technology you want in a truck but not a hybrid.
    Purchased a 2019 ex-l

Highlanders like Venzas are based entirely on the Camry chassis and drivetrain. Good stuff, different look.

Lots of folks around here are going for new RAV4 hybrids, waiting list...

Luck and enjoy the Toyotas. : ^ )))

We test drove Rav4 and Highlander back to back, my wife said it's a hard no on the rav4, and I agree, my 2014 crv drives and accelerates better.

As for the honda pilot there a no deals to be had and a lot more money, plus the fact that I won't buy from the guys around here.

Wife choose a new Highlander over a used Landcruiser. She loves it to this day. I take it anywhere I don't feel comfortable with my Tundra. Any family trips we drive, we take the Highlander. Absolutely fits in any parking space, gets 20mpg, super comfortable, and is stylish. Win win win.

The 2020 is getting some improvements and the cost difference will be negligible a year from now considering value (2020 vs 2019) unless they are giving huge discounts. Should be able to get 0%apr.
