Gears_call ‘14 prerunner

Hello All,

Figured after a year of ownership I should probably start logging all the things I’ve done. Bear with me as the earlier photos are pretty terrible. I swear they get better though.

Starting off out with the old in with the new. Traded in my 07 Silverado at 225K miles. Picked up a 2014 SR5 with just over 28K.

 

Next up was ditching the side steps. Also swapped out the factory fogs for some cali-raised LED drop in pods. Also added the tow mirrors w/ smoked signals.

 

Love the silver! What wheels and tires?

 

Next on the list was tending to the front. Truck was lifted in spacers and it showed in the ride quality. It wasn’t gonna cut it so upgraded to some king 2.5’s. A few beers, couple swear words and flying wrench or two and the operation was a success. I also ditched the front sway bar at this point in anticipation of what’s coming up.

What are you replacing them with?

 

After saving up some pennies and heavy influence from some members on here bumper was next on the list. I opted for a SSBuilt front bumper and skid with valence. I also opted for a push bar option as this will be a mounting point for 5 Baja designs pods on the front. Prior to the bumper also added some Cali raised ditch lights with their brackets.

 

I opted for the bfgoodrich all-terrain ko2’s. I ran them on the Silverado and was pleased with them. The Toyo’s Had ungodly loud road noise. And the on road feel was terrible. When I switched over it was like the truck was driving on sticks of butter it was insane how much nicer it drove. Those pictures will come tomorrow when the suns out along with some other things

 

Added the TRD paint matched grille (just need the bulge now) and also some SDHQ ABS guards

First up is a switch pros 9100 on a custom mound

 

And that switch pro is now powering 5 Baja designs pods, the ditch lights which the truck already had, as well as 2 Baja s2’s in a evil mfg mount

 

What made you choose pods over a light bar up front? Got any night time shots of the pods in action?

Haven’t posted for a little bit bit but not much has changed. Just some minor interior details and got the paint matched hood bulge.

 

Made some custom interior self storage I wasn’t a fan of the options and prices that were currently available. So cut the foam, plasti dipped it for foam rigidity/black inside. Dynamat for the sound and boom drop in some “pelican” cases.

 

Makes sense. Didn't realize there were three types: one spot in the middle, two floods/diffused, and two amber?

 

Correct yeah they just call the two outside clears the “driving/combo”

 

Where'd you get the paint matched pieces? I have same silver sky tundra and dislike all the chrome? Tha ks
