What do you think this on my paint? See imaged attached.

I took it to my dealership and they said bird dropping acid did that. WTF?

My truck is almost always cleaned and I never had that happen even to my beater cars.

The truck has less than 5k miles on it. Not to happy. They won’t cover fixing it. You can see the little scratches they did try to get the bubbles off.

I have bird poo damage, it really doesn't look like that is what you have. Bird crap will create micro cracks in the clear coat. It will show up as a hazy blemish even after you wash it and wax it. I honestly don't think that is what you have.

Directed heat or focused light that bubbles the paint.

Sounds stupid, but where I used to park my bug, the neighbor had one of those stupid windows that had a jewel cut in it. Noticed one day that the reflection of the light was so concentrated it made a small little bubble on my paint. It only took one instance of the light hitting my car perfectly to do it. I had parked there for months and never had an issue. But one day the planets must’ve aligned or something. Like a magnifying glass.

Not saying that this is that. Just saying kinda looks like it.

Those look like bubbles to me. Acid etching makes pits, not raised spots. I'd try to call BS on the dealer

Those swirl marks support your claim for sure. Maybe there was sap or something on the paint and someone used a chemical/abrasive pad of some kind to clean it off, damaging the paint in the process

Dealer BS. Bad paint on the hood. There's smaller bubbles and imperfections over the entire pic area.

Some of that smaller stuff may buff out (surprised the dealer didn't try that), but not those large bubbles. That's not coming out short of a repaint.

I would take it to a reputable body shop for another opinion.

Call Toyota. The paint should be able to withstand normal wear and tear.

Does not look like any bird poo damage I have seen. Bird poo will damage paint but it eats into the clear coat it doesn't bubble it up from my experience.

Not much else to add; just confirming what was already said above; bird droppings will etch into the paint, not bubble it. Bubbles are usually from something that is trapped under the paint. Rust will typically do that, but your truck is too new for that. I would say, and agree what was said above, get a second opinion from a reputable body shop.

The dealer covered it. But after many calls on it. They never admitted it was not a factory defect.
