Seriously? People aren't "privileged" because they have an electric car. My wife drives over 700 miles a week to work, so the electric car saves my family money. Privileged my ass. As far as subsidized, a small tax break for the purchase is quickly lost by the extra registration tax paid each year. My Tundra registration is $23 but my wife's electric car is now $220 specifically because it is electric and the state loses revenue for her not buying gas...THAT is the true fraud. Electric cars are not frauds. Jeez, you really need to put your bias into perspective.

Don't know where you live but here in Ontario electric cars get thousands off the top as subsidies and aren't charged extra in reg fees. That's on top of the US gov subsidizing the manufacturers. Privilege is most of us on these boards. You have two vehicles and can afford choice. And you have one vehicle that you can take where an electric car can't (at least not easily). Imagine for a moment you had to scrape and save for an old subcompact (as your only family vehicle) and the gov takes your tax dollars and gives it to someone to buy a new Tesla model S for a hundred grand. Most people who buy an electric car have at least one other. Most have higher than average income.

I'm hoping Toyota will continue with V8s as an option. If not the 5.7 with or without some upgrades, then hopefully a new dynamic force engine like in Camry/rav4. Naturally aspirated and long stroke with increased low-end power and improved MPG.

Anyone want to eat crow????? Come on now. I have been saying this for over a year yet everyone wants to believe bullshit. If anyone has any other questions about what "actually" is happening with the Tundra, maybe you won't second guess my statements.

What about it? Because an entity filed the rights to a name means they are doing something with it?

It's obvious to me that you speak from a position of "in the know"... so I have a question you might have an answer for...

What can you tell me about the future of the 4runner platform ?

My wife has a 2016 4runner we bought new. She loves the drivetrain combo... so we are considering a new one again soon. The problem is... How soon ?

Any idea how long the 4.0/5-speed auto drivetrain will be available ?

I had a very bad experience with a 3.5 powered 2018 Tacoma and couldnt be out from under that fast enough to buy my Tundra.
I hope Toyota doesn't drop that 3.5 abortion into the 4runner.

Unfortunate you can’t remember the fact that with 0.0% knowledge on a subject, you felt the need to tell someone quote “ you don’t know shit”.

Move on. Nothing to see here

Indeed it is. Typical in this day and age that the truth is so damn hard to swallow. Even when it stares you in the face.

Show me. I will accept any proof you can provide you will be able to buy a 2022 Tundra with a V8 from the factory.

Do the 2022s have atf coolers? Is the first oil change at 10000 miles? Did they bring back the drivers side grab handle?

As stated multiple times. Believe what you want to believe. Your pipe dreams just might come true if you will it enough and tell enough lies.....

If you have read through the thread, I have the truck I want. And I am 100% positive that it is the 2nd to last model year that the 5.7l engine will be offered from the factory in a TUNDRA. I am glad you all are so diehard about being correct that you resort to petty name calling and flat out ignorance. Wonder why my post count is low? It's easier to fight battles I am confident in....the majority of intel on these forums is Opinion and should be kept as such in a civil manner in which attacks are not made. I have gained incredible insight from fellow members regarding modifications, what to do, what not to do, etc, but I have also seen the reckless way in which people sit behind a keyboard and claim to be something they are not.

At any rate. Enjoy your trucks. They are designed by some of the best engineers who take the time to perfect something before they release it. Enjoy the fact that someone who has knowledge is willing to share it with you, regardless of how you personally feel about how it affects "YOU".

I have no strong feelings on the 5.7 in the next gen one way or the other. I'm just trying to make the point that no one has seen anything FROM TOYOTA confirming that the next gen will not (or will) have a V8. You're a hypocrite for saying there won't be one while bashing people who say there will and getting mad at them for bashing you. If you weren't a blowhard trying to pretend he knows more than the rest of us, you'd post the proof and then shut up about it.

I have a 19, and looking forward to the ttV6. Do you think it's going to be identical to the LS500 engine as far as output? With that in mind, the new 2021 F150 power boost has 570lb ft of torque, and looks pretty damn good. I'm on the fence between the two, and would like to run a hybrid to get better mpg.

Any updated news you can tell us?

    I thought the same.

Hybrid batteries use up the whole payload rating?

I was wondering if it's just the road and it's leveled from factory. Maybe it's a max payload test too? But it certainly looks down in the rear for sure
