So I think I’m finally going to hsng up the bow, shoulder just can’t do it anymore. Going to make the appointment with the doctor so I can get the crossbow permit. The final factor is my brother works at the local Dicks (I know) and hooked me up today. 10 point wicked ridge invader, normally retails for $499, I got the floor model for $90. It’s got a couple small issues that are easily fixed for under $50.4BB7E370-93F8-4BD8-A9A1-1AFDB4231595.jpg

Took this buck a few days before my birthday with the crossbow. My largest to date.

I shot a solocam for years, now I shoot a Monster 7.0 at 72 pounds 31” draw. It’s a monster just like the name suggests!

Picked up a PSE Drive XL the other day, don’t have a pic of it at the moment. Was gonna buy one of the Stinger packages, but turns out my draw length is 1/2” longer than that bow allows.

Have a Hoyt now but started out shooting Dartons. Used to shoot I’m leagues and they were accurate. I like the Hoyt a lot but the break over isn’t nearly as smooth at 70-75 lbs as it was on the Darton I used to hunt. They both killed deer though!

Barnett recurve recruit crossbow and an older PSE stinger compound. Rather have 2 instead of dropping a lot of $ on just one. Now I got a backup, enjoy shooting both, both have put down whitetails.

Archery season is set to kick off here in less than 2 weeks. My crossbow is dialed in (didn't get much chance to shoot the compound this off season) and stands are set. Even did some work on the truck to make loading deer a bit easier. Also, have one nice shooter buck on camera so far, haven't had a chance to check the other property I hunt yet, so hopefully see something on camera there in the next week or so.

That looks really nice, can you show the whole bed setup , and are you hooked up to your charging system ,or is this just remote?

Its a stand-alone system. Depending on how things go, whether it's a pain to plug in or I find the battery doesn't last as long as I'd hope I may either wire into the trailer harness to utilize the factory charging capability or I may grab a solar charger and mount it to the tonneau some how.

I’m running with an Elite Option 7. Cranked up the poundage this year, getting it ready for the Pennsylvania deer season starting in October.

So, I doubled up tonight. Took a doe, then as I lowered my crossbow, a nice buck came in. Got to put my winch setup to the test, loaded them both into my cart/sled and used it to winch them up, combined total of 320 pounds of deer. Worked perfectly for me. Was able to load them up and go. 20201008_205653.jpg

That was from last year and I got a whitetail doe with my bow. But got shutout with the archery elk and didn’t have time to make it back over for rifle season:(

For this year with all the covid stuff we didn’t make the trip over which sucks.

Here that. That elk is huge! I’m about ready to head out for an evening hunt. Found a spot where 3 trails intersect, lots of rubs and at least an 8 and a larger buck (10 or 12 point) has been seen in the area. Love this time of the year. Take care brother, hope you can at least get out and enjoy some hunting this year.

I'll be leaving this Friday with neighbor and his friends for California D8 rifle. I have an archery tag, which I think they'll agree to let me put stalk on if it's within 100 yards. Just not sure what's going to be open due to the fires.

Otherwise, I'll wait until Nov 14 for my A32 tag. Late season and either sex. Shooting the first fat doe I see.

I had the same thoughts here in Pennsylvania. Was sitting in a prime area and saw a big doe come out about 30 yards away from a corn field. She walked right into my shooting lane and about 20 yards away. Hooked the string and was about to pull back when I saw movement behind her. Two small ones came up and started to nurse. Couldn’t do it. Figured it’s still early in the season and a buck might be just around the corner. She came within 11 yards which was pretty cool. Day ended with a sunset but no buck. Tomorrow is another day, can’t wait to get out!

If you get one with the felt still on it’s supposed to be a superfood. But I guess it’s a little late for that.
