You're probably thinking of this thread, Post #255 by @pickeledpigsfeet

@pickeledpigsfeet also said this (Post 263):

So...It was actually @pickeledpigsfeet that contacted Valvoline Tech Services. I didn't remember the degradation temperature of MaxLife correctly: It was actually 280 degrees F, not 240 degrees as I remembered. Sorry for the misinformation.

I have not had an issue yet. I pull my 19’ Rzr turbo 4 seater aboard my 18’ tandem axle trailer down in the mountains of KY & TN. Pulls like a champ with those 4.30 running gears matched to the powerhouse 5.7.

One additional comment: If you are serious about setting up a thread dedicated to collecting 2019+ ATF temperatures under towing conditions, you need to request the mods set up a "sticky" thread in the "Towing and Hauling" forum.

There are probably hundreds of posts to Tundras.com daily. Unless there are frequent posts to any thread to bump it to the top, it disappears from most members view in as little as one day.

Well depends on ambient temps and distance you travel. Yesterday I drove mine 25+ miles Before the Trans TC and Pan temps finally reached the same as the engine, 185 during 60degree weather.

    What are you numbers? : ^ ))))

It's in the 30s right now but earley this year it was -10 and it took forever for the trans temp to rise. When it gets -30 agian I will check how long it takes to get up to temp.

I've never requested a "sticky thread", but I suspect that getting a thread made "sticky" is not as easy as typing the word "requested" in a post. OTOH, my original suggestion for a "sticky thread" is probably unnecessary. The "Towing and Hauling" forum is a smaller, slower forum. If 2019+ owners go directly to the "Towing and Hauling" forum, your thread should be visible on the first page of 50 for a (couple of months).

If you want a thread about 2019+ ATF temperatures that doesn't attract a lot of other discussion, you need a thread title that is very specific and narrow in topic, e.g. "What ATF Temperatures Towing With 2019+ Tundras?", (or "Maximum ATF Temperatures Towing With 2019+ Tundras?"). Maybe even a poll. Some have said polls don't work, but they have to be designed properly. A poll gives the respondent a slot for his observation, even if they have no other valuable comments like trailer load, terrain, and ambient temperature. FWIW.

I think the only post about the temp warning light coming on was a 17 or 18. Have to see if I can find the post.
