Post up any uses you have found for your detailing products and tools.
I know you can polish glass shower doors and seal them with various sealants. @War Machine has done that. I have used silica spray sealant on some solar LED lights and LED post caps on my deck. It has done a great job to prevent sun fading. Also on my grill, not sure how long it really lasts with 500° heat
Today I used carpro elixir (mix of ech2o and reload) in my kitchen. It's a cleaner and a sio2 sealant. My granite counters came out amazing and super slick lol. I'm hoping it will prevent some water spots and make things easier to clean. I also used it on my stainless oven, and microwave and it cleaned them better than my usual lysol kitchen cleaner and also sealed them so they should stay cleaner and be easy to wipe down.

What have you done? Share you crazy ideas here and teach us some new uses for the stuff we have spent so much money on.

I have waxed my granite, appliances, etc....sealed shower doors like you said, and put Beadmaker on the Roomba.

I do the same to my granite tops. I had a dull spot on my countertop that was picking at my OCD. I used some mothers rubbing compound, 2 types course and fine. Worked like a charm. Time consuming though.

Hard to tell in pic but the gloss, reflection, and clarity is much improved.
The slickness is out of this world. I slid a plate down to my daughter and it almost flew off the counter lol

I completely forgot that one. I use CG Leather Quick Detailer on my shoes and boots. Works great, just have to make sure to keep it off the soles or they squeak like crazy.

I wonder if hydro2 would work on my quartz countertops? I don't have any reload or echo2. Maybe even a little beadmaker on them? I do wanna try hydro2 and beadmaker on my shower tiles, wonder how well that will work

Jeeze... I'm dumbfounded that I hadn't thought about using my detailing products on household stuff.

With granite countertops, just polish or wax, both? Will it hurt them to use my orbital? I wouldn't think so, but I'm barely a novice with this stuff

Hydro2 probably would work on counter, well it would but you need a strong water spray to activate it and that would get messy in the kitchen. It would probably be okay in the shower if you have a removable shower head sprayer.

I tried Beadmaker on the washer and dryer. Looks brilliant but now I cant fold clothes on top as they slip right off. Tried a bottle of nufinish i had laying around on the shower glass, worked well. We have corian counters and I am tempted to try some Meg's 105 with the DA to see how well it works.

I think it was @Pudge I had this discussion with a while back. My company makes a line of sealers and finishes for natural stone, and some of these paint sealants share a lot of similar technology. Something to keep in mind though is that paint sealants, waxes, etc are likely not tested for food safety. I have no doubt they’d work great though on granite! More porous stones would be a gamble though.

Question, if I seal my granite countertops with reload, will I need to use something like mr. Pink to clean them? We were told to use something like windex vinegar for cleaning, even with a sealer. @marc32

Good point. I was thinking about my black jenn-air stove, but then I thought what kind of off gassing would happen with reload and heat? Still, I'd like to find something that makes cleaning a black stove easier.

Use something with a neutral pH on all natural stone, whether it’s been sealed/coated or not. Granite is pretty resilient stuff, but still natural stone.

It’s worth going and buying a cleaner made specifically for natural stone and/or countertops that way there is no guessing. Lots of car washes claim to be pH neutral but idk about all those synthetic dyes and scents going on a food borne surface.

That’s the part that’s not known. A lot of these things are made to be used outside in ambient conditions. What happens when you open up reload in a closed room and turn the oven on later? :notsure:

I eventually thought it was strange that the granite supplier said to use vinegar based cleaners. My wife usually just wipes the countertops with a damp dish sponge.
I would try reload on the stove, but the two options are you would find the results in a new post or my obituary.
