If you’re considering buying a Carven exhaust system, I highly recommend doing something to insulate your cab from the drone on long trips, especially if you have anyone in the back seat. It’s super awesome around town and on 2 hour trips but we’ve been in the car for about 2500 miles this past week and my brain feels like it’s going to explode. Pic for attention.

Drone has a bad effect on me, I totally get the head wanting to explode, it makes me nauseous and kind of a motion sick feeling after a long time. I am glad I have a resonator on my @dirtydeeds exhaust, it makes all the difference in the world. Maybe you could get one on your Carven system, they really work.

Yea man, I’m thinking either that or dynamat the whole truck. Have a friend who welds, so I’m sure he’d Be able to help. Sat in the back for a couple hours, wife’s back there now. 4.5 hours left into the mountains though and not sure how much this is going to crush me. I don’t use cruise control though so I can feather it a bit more than them.

Lol my Christmas wrapping looks like any other shitty wrap. I appreciate it, color looks crazy on a truck. First truck with this color that I know of.

I used noico, like dynamat, closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl. 2 layers of the MLV under the rear seats and floorboards, and the back wall. The entire truck has the noico, CCF, MLV, and reflectix insulation and to be honest it made the road noise much less, but when I had some drone it still was rough. It was quieter for sure but drone is more than just noise, it's that frequency or something. It's awful

Does the color flip from blue to green? Looks so good. Also I see you went with blue in an attempt to have a faster and more powerful truck;)

Well duh. Yea it’s not necessarily a color flip but it’s a really crazy metallic that looks different depending on the lighting. Doesn’t shift from blue to green in the same light though.

more than I can list here
Unfortunately the drone has a wave length of 104”

with a wavelength that long you can insulate it all you want and the drone still penetrates the cabin:(

Keith, wouldn't your resonator help Matt's drone issue?

Drone is a terrible thing, it's one of the reasons I traded in my corvette after installing an aftermarket system. Now a friend of mine had an 86 corvette and a 14 camaro both had aftermarket exhaust systems with drone. He was looking at Corsa systems and noticed how they controlled the air at the tips, they basically forced it out one outlet. I do realize that this works on a dual exhaust system with split tips but it may give you something to think about. He took a section of exhaust pipe that fit into the outlet and a wheel hub cap welded into one end, then he drilled a small hole in the center of the cap going bigger ever so gradually to get the right sound without drone. It is amazing how he eliminated the drone on both his cars and they retain the rumble, my car we could only eliminate maybe 90% but that wasn't enough.

Well I know a guy that did it on the side. Ended up paying him 250.00 and the materials where about 300.00 but now that its was done I would have probably paid more just because how good it turned out.
