    I have 1.5 inch shackles on my Tundra. I do tow a 5,500 pound boat with a 550 pound tongue weight. I was wondering if Sumo Springs would work. I am looking for something to help with rear sag and rear support while towing. Thanks!!!

    I use Sumos for that exact purpose (Nautique 230 boat) and they work perfectly. I also have 1.5" shackles -- just call Supersprings and have them make you new brackets to compensate for the added height of your lift.

    Thanks @neirbot !!! I have a Axis A22. How do the Sumo’s ride unloaded? Any change in ride? I will give them a call and see what they say.

    Glad to help. Absolutely no change in ride when unloaded. There is about a 0.5-0.75" gap between the sumo spring and the frame when the boat is unloaded. That gap closes when I load the boat.

    I ordered my SumoSprings @neirbot . They are making me a custom bracket to accommodate the 1 1/2 rear lift at no extra charge.

    I suggest airbags with onboard air compressor....
    Will work great and stop that back end sag

    Thanks @Bigboitundra . I am going to try the SumoSprings and see how they work. They have a 30 day return policy. If the SumoSprings lack in performance I will definitely go the airbag route. Thanks again!!

    I will do an update on this post and my build thread when I get them installed and do a little towing.

    SumoSprings installed!!! They were able to make me a custom spacer to accommodate the 1.5 inch rear lift. Probably going to hook up the boat this week and see how they do.

    Here is a couple of pictures of my boat hooked up to the Tundra with the SumoSpings. It still has a little sag but not as much a before the SumoSprings. The SumoSprings definitely helped with the sag and a better all around ride quality while towing or under a load. A lot less rear bounce and better rear handling and control. When not towing or under a load they do not contact the frame and you do not even know they are there. I think the SumoSprings are a good alternative to airbags.

    How do the sumo springs feel when you hit a bump at speed? Is it like hitting a bumpstop quicker? How much can the tundra compress them?

    Nice truck! Do you have a lift/leveling kit installed? If so, what company did you go with? I'm asking because I had the sumo springs on my last truck which had a leveling kit. I took them off and put them on my current Tundra with a 2.5/1.5 lift. Wondering how it's going to handle. Thanks!

    @TundraTRD5300 I have the Toytec Boss kit set at 3/1.5. I did the install myself. I contacted SumoSprings and they were able to make me a set with a 1 inch spacer to accommodate my rear lift. Rides and handles great either empty or towing.

    Sorry for the off subject question - But did the lift or Sumo Springs effect the collision sensor in front? I've read that lifting or leveling may throw off the calibration of the sensor. Thanks!

    @TundraTRD5300 neither the lift nor the SumoSprings affected the sensors. I did keep an inch of rake for that reason. So my rear sits an inch higher than the front.

    I just finished installing mine and there is no gap, they are always in contact with the frame. Ima waiting to see if it makes the ride to rough when not towing

    @aussieaarons

    When unloaded it rests on both sides or just driver?

    Dang. Maybe your springs are flattened more than average? Hard to imagine on such a new truck
