I'm running a Samsung 200 watt soundbar with wireless subwoofer. It's a 2012 model I bought when I purchased my 55" Samsung TV. I'm a Samsung fanboy and only buy their TVs and soundbars. Their both running strong 7 years plus. You can't go wrong with Samsung in my opinion, but there are some good one's out there, just depends on how deep ur pockets are :eek2:. Mine was around $350.

Another vote for Sonos. I’ve had it 2 or 3 years and I’m very happy.

    Post your issue here: https://forum.polkaudio.com/

been a member for 15 years and a lot of helpful people. The sound bars have been problematic. And customer service has declined since Polk audios sale but you may get lucky. Sometimes they will replace out of warranty

I’ve got the sub, playbase, and two Play1’s. Super easy set up and sounds great. Not real cheap though.

I have the definitive technology unit and the sound is amazing. The base is very good. And I stream my music to it wirelessly too. I actually went to these after being dissatisfied with Sonos. Gave my Sonos unit to my brother in law.

I have 10 Sonos devices in total with a 5.1 setup in the family room. Playbar, sub and two One’s for the rear channels. I couldn’t be happier. It’s a great way to start Multi-room system, and add on to it when they go on sale. The user interface of the Sonos app is hard to beat if you have multi-room setup.

Which unit do you have? The slim or the other? What was the gripe w sonos? That is my plan b in a config like other poster suggested adding rear fill for a 5.1. Gets pricey quick tho.

I have the prior version of the Studio. I was looking for a unit that had better sound quality than the Sonos, because I wanted a system to stream music from primarily. The Definitive Technology systems have much fuller sound. It's difficult to tell unless you listen to them side by side with the others, that's why I recommend that you go to a Best Buy Magnolia store where they sell some higher end stuff (they display and you can hear the different speakers). I had Sonos speakers and when I listened to them side by side with the DF Tech speakers, I realized what I was missing. I don't want anyone to think that I am claiming DF Tech is high end. It is no where near high end. At the pricepoint, it just gives a much fuller sound than the competition.

However, the Sonos system has a much better user interface. I really miss that part. The DF Tech user interface is clunkier and more difficult to use when streaming music wirelessly.

I plan to go check them out before ordering. I dont stream to the sound bar so idk that the interface is a deal for me. Currently have a vizio 70 and a vizio 5.1 bar in the main living room. Looking at an upgrade to the tv and the soundbar. I'd love if the def tech offered a rear fill solution...not sure that I need it upstairs as we have a dedicated theater room downstairs but I feel like I'm giving something up.

They have wireless 5.1 and 7.1 systems that you can go with. This thread was initially about a sound bar and sub, which the def tech sounds great, but cannot take the place of rear channels.
I actually have multiple def tech wireless speakers that I set up zones/groups and play my music throughout the house, including my sound bar and sub. But the interface when used like this is not as user friendly as the Sonos.

Vizio makes one with wireless subwoofer and rear speakers. Bought stands off Amazon, it works great. I really like it... But this thread got me looking at Sonos now...
