    Hey All,

Trying to decide on a replacement wheel for my 2020 Silver Sky Limited 4WD. I have lifted it 3" with Icon stage II kit and added 285/75R18 (35"). But I think I want to get some wheels and need your help.

Let me first say that I absolutely respect that we all have varying tastes on what look is good for your own Tundra. So no disrespect meant to any of you fine people whose wheel taste might not be my own!

So...the things I am generally looking for in a wheel are:

    • 18" (want to keep the ride quality, though I really like the look of a 20". My 2007 Tundra has 20" wheels and 35's and there is a big difference)
    • Do not want all black or all chrome.
    • Prefer gunmetal/anthracite
    • Prefer gloss over matte finish
    • I like to see some empty space in the wheel as opposed to most of it filled up by the wheel
    • Don't prefer a real "busy" look, which leads me to the next bullet point
    • Don't prefer the bead lock with chrome/silver dots around the rim.
    • I do prefer a clean lip or bead
    • I do prefer that the spokes (or whatever the shape of the "arms" are) do not reach all the way to the edge of the wheel. I like where the edge/bead is clean all the way around, even if it is a small amount. My 07 has Ultra Maverick wheels and you can see and it is a good example of a wheel that does not have an unbroken bead or lip all the way around. I'd like to do it differently this time.
    • If I can't find exactly what I want, I would consider getting the right shape/design wheel with the wrong color then doing plasti-dip or powdercoating to get the color right.
    • I also want a wheel that has an offset of about +25 to no less than 0. I want the tire to stick out a little but I want to be able to take off the 1.25" spacers I have on the stock wheels now. I may move up to 295s or even 35s to get a bit more, depending on the wheel.
Below are the wheels I've found so far, and I've probably looked at every single wheel on the internet this weekend (well, it seems like it anyway.) None of them are ideal. And I suppose the budget is no more than $350 per wheel, though I'd like it to be much less.

    GA640 graphite.jpg GA640 graphite.jpg
GA640... Ok, but sort of bland. Clean lip not perfect, but at least the spokes don't touch the lip. Low Cost. Wish color was a little darker. +25 offset.

    grid gd04 graphite.jpggrid gd04 black.jpg
I like the design/shape. Lots of open space. Didn't consider this at first because of the lip, bit the "mechanical" look grew on me a little. The anthracite color is just right, but prefer not to have the machine look with it and wish the dots weren't on the lip. This would be a good candidate for powder coating. In spite of the comment of the not wanting all black, if I was going to have to get an all black, this would probably be it. I think maybe it's because it has so much open space. Offset for this comes in +15, 0, and -12.

    grid gd07 grey 2.jpg

    gd07 black.jpg

Above is the Grid GD07 in grey and black. Maybe a bit too "complicated" looking? Again, not a clean lip but the cut is not bad. But maybe too much bling on it with the various machined bits.

    MO969_BLK_Chrome-insert_Toyo_MT.jpg
    mo969_BLK_chrome-insert-4.jpg

And FINALLY....here is what I originally wanted so badly! But they are discontinued. I've looked on ebay and craigslist for them, but no go. They do make an all-chrome with the correct size, and if I could find a set of those I'd probably buy them and have them powder coated a dark anthracite with either black inserts or chrome inserts (all of the chrome here can be changed).

Well, there is one more picture, but it is just for color reference. I put on a large picture (I hope) so you can see the gloss and metallic flake. That is the color I'd really like. The wheel is from a car (design no good but the color is great!)

    gunmetal color.jpg

    SOOOOO....

Thanks for anyone that made it this far without falling asleep!

Any and all input is very, very much appreciated

Thanks, Burdturger! I looked at them and liked them enough to buy them, but then it looks like it only comes in 20". May still go that route if I upsize tires. Really afraid of ride quality decrease.

I’m running some gram lights and I absolutely love them. I get asked about them just about every other day. They are a bit on the pricey side though but worth every penny if you ask me. Before I splurged on the rays I was really close to getting some black rhino roku. Clean simple and you can’t go wrong with a te37 style wheel in my opinon

Boy those look really nice. I do like the really clean line of these. I'm not sure if I can swing that much, though I might save up.

What do you think of these? Similar clean lines, though not as expensive.

I didn't get these yet, I found them on another forum after searching google for the Level 8 Mk 6 wheel for Toyota. There are quite a number of styles there. I think the one in the photo if actually a Toyota PN decal for the FJ Cruiser, PTR18-35090.

I have the same color combination on my truck. My wheels are 20's but they might fit what you are looking for. I don't think they make 18's for this wheel. Moer info in the link to my build.

Here are a couple on different 4Runners and I think one on a tacoma. Very similar, I think, to the FN wheel, though I think the spokes on the FN are slightly more curved where they meet the rim and these are a little more creased. Plus, they are only $160 each for 18x9 with a -12 offset. Great Price!tacoma mk6.jpg 4runner mk 6 wheel.jpg black 4r mk6.jpg

I like the chrome nerf bars on the silver. I have the black ones that came with it, but I thought about switching to yours at some point after I get the wheels doe

I found the source. They are actually the whole TRD center cap and you can get them on Amazon for 12 bucks. Another forum member with these wheels said the TRD caps fit in place perfectly...no stickers!

Have you considered Fuel Mavericks? I know you mentioned not wanting to see the chrome beads around the lip, but this has a good balance of black and chrome...worth looking at.
