My wife drives a 2014 4Runner. We’re having an issue with the passenger side headlight keeps burning out but the driver side is still factory.

I replaced the bulb last in December 2018 and on the way home tonite, it burned out again.

I’ve been using the Sylvania HID light each time i have to replace and this time I dropped down to a less bright version hoping that might help the situation.

She keeps the lights on all the time, uses them as daytime running lights and I think that might be part of the problem but I can’t be sure.

Any suggestions about potential issue here??

(I’m using this light as the replacement this time..)

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Well it could just be a Coincidence, perhaps.

Or maybe there is a slightly loose - not solidly connected ground (or hot) on the side that burns out more often.

May go LED. There are some bad ones and some very good one out there. The better ones emulate the location of light output well compared to standard bulbs allowing for excellent light dispersion using the OEM reflectors - meaning they don't blind oncoming folks. Pricier than traditional bulbs yet they are so much brighter and whiter - light up signs and road markings very well. I use them on all my vehicles except the BMW that came with HID (the beat the LEDs of course).

Luck and enjoy those Toyotas. : ^ )))

So far, i don't like the HID at all. I think i'm going to try an OEM bulb this time and see if that makes a difference in terms of how long lasting it might be. The OEM price ended up being in-line with aftermarket so we'll see what happens

I ended up getting new bulb from the Dealer. OEM was $6 more than aftermarket part. We'll see if that solves the problem a few months from now.
