So I just broke the mirror backing out of the garage (idiot). I called the dealer to get a price for the replacement, over $1000. I got the part number and looked online, there are plenty of options less expensive (OEM $600-700) and aftermarket. What I'm noticing is that none of the aftermarket options offer the auto-dim feature, yet list their mirror as a direct replacement.

    OEM Part from dealer: 87910-0C420

An old thread pointed me to this site, they confirmed that they don't carry one with the auto-dim feature.

I actually don't see any aftermarket parts with auto-dim.

Does anyone know if the auto-dim is just in the glass itself? My glass is still good, in fact, if I could find the right assembly parts, I could just replace those instead of the entire mirror.

I did the same thing and used that exact mirror from 1aauto to replace it. It looks and works just fine. I am used to not having the auto dim on that side now. You could probably buy that mirror and just swap the glass from your old one over.

That is what I am thinking as well. In fact, I only need the black portion of the outer housing, although a small part broke off the motor mount, it seems to be working fine, just the cracked housing at this point, so even the cheapest replacement would work if it's easy enough to swap out.

Did you notice if there was more than one connection going through to the housing, or did all of the features run off one connector on the stock unit?

It was all a single plug. Your idea should work

When you swapped the mirror did the auto dim work.

So did the glass swap retain the auto-dim feature?
