Disable Day Time RL’s ?

I am curious, is it possible to turn off your daytime running lights and blinkers still work? I actually think they look cool but I’d like to be able to turn them off and on at will.

 

Put the foot brake on 1 click before you start up the truck. Then let us know.

This won’t hurt anything? And blinkers will work?

 

1 click? Probably wouldn’t even really engage much. Doubt it would hurt. But now that I think of it you’d probably have the dash beep at you with the audible brake engaged warning.
It will kill the DRL feature. That’s all I know. That’s why I said “let us know.”

I added a disable switch to my second gen when I added a usb plug, added tire pressure sensor system and moved my rear window switch.

Everything works like normal wether they’re on or off.

Very easy job. Only had to splice into one wire. Even with soldering the new switch wires in the job only took about 20 minutes.

I used a $1 rocker switch, some wire and heat shrink.

longest part was getting a perfect fit for the new switch. I think I made a write up on it here or on another forum. I’ll see if I can find the link...

 

Couldn’t see what headlights you have but I used a @iHacker harness and was able to splice a wire under my dash to disable my DRL lights but they still work as blinkers. I have a 2016 SR5. I am running the OEM led headlights but I think this will work for halogens.

 

On my 2020 Tundra, I thought I saw an option for them in the settings using the steering wheel controls in the mini display in the instrument panel. I could be wrong tho

 

The video probably shows it the same as I searched and found. That gray module you see in the eBay link is the same one you have under your dash. under the switch panel to the left of the steering wheel. There is a gray wire you cut and it will disable the DRL. Everything else still works as normal. if you want it to be an on and off feature, just put a toggle switch of some sort in-between the wire once its cut and it can be turned on and off. Not sure for whatever reason you want it to do that though.

On my way 19 on the radio setting setup vehicle setting under lighting I can turn off drl.

 

My headlight switch on my 2018 turn signal column has a "DRL Off" setting. Does yours not have this?

yes mine has a switch, can also turn off in apps, vehicle, vehicle customization, light settings

 

I did this on my 2010. I would like to know how to do this on my 2017.
