    Or whining thread LOL

    My damn knee now..sheesh.

A little history from way back in 1987, I was a work place accident, equipment failed and I fell 20ft and landed on the plants concrete floor. I was on a very tall rolling stock ladder that unknown to me and others that night had been damaged and another worker "tried to repair", May the fucks forever be upon that jackass btw...

Any way I landed on my right side and broke my right wrist and forearm, bruised me from that arm across my back and down to my left forearm, messed up my back and right hip, pretty much the right side of my body took the brunt of the fall, but I go up and walked away..

Fast forward....I still deal with pain and live with it, very very rarely do I need to take a prescription pain med.

This week my right knee decided hey lets relive that event..damn it to hell.

So I am hobbling around to the point my hip is giving me trouble again, LOL like a screwed up quasi moto..LOL

Believe it or not the one thing that helps me thru all of this is my current job and being on my feet for 10 hours a day or more and running around the store. I still have my days like the last few days, but I am thankful things were not much worse.

Ya I know, man up, deal with it and move on...its what I do...

and its only pain, it will get better but dang it....it hurts LOL

What did the MRI show? I had knee surgery on my right knee. It's prob 90% better. It'll never be 100%
Shoulders bug me a lot but they offer cortisone shots

Nothing torn, joint is still fairly tight according to my ortho doc, just goes out every now and then, I will be walking and bam, its not there anymore.

I wont even talk about my right shoulder.

Do you live in a cold weather state? Does it act up when it's cold? If so might get better if it warms up. Sorry to hear that. Tell wife or girlfriend to give you a massage ;)

Any inflammation? It may or may not be worth surgery
I went through hundreds of PT sessions, and cortisone shots before they agreed to an MRI then said "well...we should prob get in there."

    Get a 2nd opinion if u can/want

It gets cold here in Oklahoma, and yes the weather affects my joints.

I have arthritis, that's a factor as well....

Its been on and off again since 87. I have seen several docs, they all say leave it alone, do phys therapy. So its not bad enough to go in and repair....thankfully.

Get your kids "vaccinated" for "HPV" virus....let me tell you why! 59 years old now...life has been a blast, most of the time. Short past....married divorced, in the mid 80's. Partied like a rock star. Remarried and "widowed" 8 years later. Brain tumor got the best of a beautiful wife. Partied again like an aging rock star! Lol. Remarried again...current wife has lymphoma ...treatable not curable. 5 years ago...went in for a colonoscopy, and as I was talking with my family physician, I shot my mouth off...and said clean the "probe" off and do an endoscopy and find out why I have had a sore throat for about a month. Did the scope...found throat cancer. Yep...ladies and gentle HPV virus caused base of tongue throat cancer. After 44 radiation treatments 5 years ago...cancer gone! Hurray! Great! Not so fast. Long term radiation effects. We are born with 32 teeth. I have 19 left. The teeth, mouth, tongue, and gums have taken a serious blow....and I live with the pain daily. Very hard to eat, teeth break constantly, I take morphine 2x a day and oxy as needed. They can't pull the bad teeth, the sockets will not heal. All they can do is grind them down to the gum line which now exposes the gums to all sorts of irritation. Plus I have bone deteriation in the jaw bone, which creates a whole different pain level. Not much is "written" on this type of situation, "long term side effects" of radiation to the head and neck. So... After searching high and low, talking with healthcare professionals.....nationwide and even out of the states...I found a "clinical study" at the University of Michigan. Great ..I'm close about an hour away. They bumped me out of the study and the Dental school "falculity" division is taking over my case personally. Still considered a "study" all cost should be covered, if not...not a problem. On my last visit the question came up as to what is "my goal" ....what am I looking for in regards to any procedures we might have available to you. I told them, as we sat around a large table with a lot of people with a lot of letters behind their names...lol! I said...lets do the math, I'm 59... I smoked and drank for at least 45 years....my chances of living to 90 will not happen, neither will 80. 70 is going to be a god send, so since I turn 60 this coming year....if I make 70.... That's 3650 days. Whatever you people can do to eliminate or even....curtail the pain, do it! And while your at it...."make me look" Hollywood! Lol. Remember the friends episode where Ross had teeth that "glowed" in the dark? Do it! Lol! Well welcome to 2017.... Let's see if I get my wish! BTW....."GET YOUR KIDS VACCINATED" against the HPV virus! I would only wish this pain on an ex brother in law....he deserves it....he's a wife beater! Happy New Year to all and yours!

25lb plate fell on my toe from an incline.

That was like 2 years ago lol.

I've had worse. Like the time a bike peg went into my leg. 2 layers of stitches on that one.

Damn man some efed up stuff right there. My hearts out to ya. Now my throat hurts lol.
I lost my father and almost my mother more recently to cancer. The chemo and radiaton finished my dad off and my mother has bad lingering effects from it all. Never be the same. Sucks. I held my dads hand until his dying breath eye to eye, was the most labor intensive horrific thing I've witnessed or experienced. I was 26. I've seen some pretty messed up shit but that one changed me for life. Fast forward 10 years and my mom went through it and kicked its ass. Cancer free for 6 months now.
    Keep looking up brother!

    Hi
I'm 56 and over the last 4 or 5 months my knees have been hurting, especially the right one, when I go up ladders or get up from a sitting or kneeling position. Last week My work (hvac service) required me to go up and down ladders numerous times for 2 days in a row. At the end of the second day my right knee was aching like a tooth ache. Ice and Aleve didnt help. Went to the Dr. The next morning. They took xrays and didnt see anything. Gave me a 7 day steroid pack to take, a knee brace, and light duty for 2 weeks. I have a feeling that I should have an MRI. Anyone else ever had a similar issue?
    Thanks
    Hoss

Ask the doctor about Ketoprofen for the pain. It works great on my arthritis (back, right knee, and fingers on both hands), and it'll kick a headache's ass in a heartbeat.

Leaf spring on the truck got my finger yesterday. I was adjusting the lift setting on the shackles. Prybar slipped and my finger was stuck between the spring and shackle. I had to reposition the pry bar to get it it out. Same finger I drove a screw into at work on Friday. Hurts like hell, but the truck looks perfect. Happy New year!

I'm only 31 but the Marine Corps has been rough on my body. Multiple stress fractures, broken ribs, torn acls, tumors, toenails falling off in boots and now grey hairs popping up.
It's still in my opinion the greatest job in the world and I wouldn't change a thing. Who wants to die not without fully using the body that was given to them?

2012 Tundra Double Cab, Beta Variant (I call it my Land Yacht)
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Holy Shit! What a Ride!”" - Hunter S. Thompson

“Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know “why” I look this way. I’ve travelled a long way and some of the roads weren’t paved.” - Will Rogers

"Sometimes, even the devil on my shoulder says: "Wait, maybe you better think about this."" - Unknown
