I’ve got a 2012 ARE MX that has the older style “t” handles on each lower corner of the back window. The newer ones have a center handle and utilize a cable.

I want to add keyless entry to the topper, but they only offer it for the newer models. Anybody seen a power locking mechanism that works for “t” handles or converted to the newer style with cables?

Anyone running a swiss cap? Local dealer carries ARE and Swiss....can't find much about them?

Quick questions for Snugtop owners. @gosolo @16TRD
Do the towers and bars come off the roof rails? If so, how difficult is it to remove/install them? The one I want to order will have the Yakima rack, but I don't think it will clear my garage. I would like to only put the towers and bars onto the roof rails when needed.

Easy! Exactly what you want. I set the towers to the bars and screwed em tight. I can lay them into the rail mounts and clip them in in about 5 minutes. Removal is the same thing in reverse.
I also had a garage that would not fit the truck when the stuff was on the truck

The yakima types you can remove off/on easily. You can also look into the prinsu rack since it’s low profile. However not as easy to take off/on. Unless your garage is high enough then wont be a problem.

As long as I can remove them easily if it won't clear when backing into my garage, I'm happy.
Thanks for the quick answers guys.
Now I just need to save for this expensive thing.

yakima/thule is the same I believe so the yakima sliders/towers/bars should work.

Here’s my A.R.E CX Classic. I got super lucky and found it already paint matched on CL locally the same week I picked up my truck. Sliding side windows with pet screens, carpet liner, fold down slider rear window. Paid $350.

Thanks. Yeah, I knew it was too good of a deal to pass up. Needless to say, I hustled to meet up with the seller.

    Snugtop GB Sport -

Opted for the sportsman package, rails, 1 led light, folding front window and power lock.

They forgot the power lock, so waiting for that to eventually arrive in CO.

I'm also less than thrilled that there's no handle. The lower plastic louver (?) came to me scratched because snugtop or my installer was not careful.

I've also ordered an oem power tailgate lock. Has anyone experienced issues installing both?
