Congrats... Then why post? If you want to throw your actual 2 cents in, why not make a full post about your issues with your unit, which unit you have, and ask if there is anything to fix it.

Should be Identical specs for cpu and memory/storage. Difference is that the top one needs dongle for carplay/android auto and does not rotate the screen.

Thanks! But does it state that about CarPlay somewhere in the specs? Not doubting you, just curious.

Ahhh gotcha. Wish they were more consistent with the way the right those specs on Amazon. This thread has been immensely helpful! I'm going to be ordering one soon and replacing my Pio AVH-2330NEX with it.

Majority of us have no issues with this HU. I believe you got a defective one, especially since you bought it second hand. I understand the frustrations but unfortunately you can’t even return it. I suggest you buy another one from Amazon prime and test it out, if all goes wrong, you have 30 days to return with no hassle.

it is not defective. Everything works.
Did you read what I mentioned. I dont like android and how glitchy it is. Everything works fine. My cameras, gauges, tpms fuel info all work.
It is just not a simple system to get used to.

The up side you get features. the downside is you can easily mess things up.

ANyways. I deleted my comment due to it not being productive.

Where is best place to get some fun widgets and apps (apk) for these headunits
    what is best launcher ?

Oh also I purchased a new microphone. The one that came with this head unit was bad from factory. I opened the microphone and soldering was no good.

New microphone is making a huge impact.

Just installed the Dasaita 10.2” with the wireless Apple CarPlay...I got the version that can be rotated and wanted to share some observations and a few questions:

    1. Logo vs No Logo types - There are 2 types of units with the same guts
      • Pan, Tilt, Rotating Type - I originally got this one thinking that the screen wouldn’t’ be all great like my previous in dash and I would need it to tilt towards me. Turns out the screen is beautiful and no issues with glare so I’m sending it back because the giant logo is driving me nuts. I’m hoping they use the same screen on the squared off one with no logo.
      • Pan Only Type Square w/ no logo - I’m hoping they use the same screen on the squared off one with no logo. If so, this should have been my go to from the beginning as viewing angle will not be an issue and the look is much more OEM which I’m going for.
    2. Amazon Ordering - If you order from Amazon order from the ‘Dasaita Official Store’. I ordered from Saita Nava thinking I was ordering from the other one they do not include the canbus and harness which cost a bit extra and took longer with shipping from China.
    3. Wireless Apple Car PlaySeen
      • some complain about the load up time for Wireless CarPlay....no issues here, yeah it probably takes about 20-30 seconds but no big deal for me. By the time I”m pulling out of my neighborhood its on which is all I need.
      • CarPlay Connection....works about 50% of the time. The rest of the time I finally figured out to turn off bluetooth on the phone and turn it back on and it’ll reconnect. Otherwise it gets stuck on the ‘waiting’ screen
    4. Issues I can use some help with. I have a 2012 Sequoia Platinum which was supposedly plug and play. There are two main items I can’t get to work:
      • Steering Wheel Controls - I can’t get them to work, I’ve reach out to the seller and their help has been limited at best. Is there a canbus setting I need to do or any wiring that needs to be reconfigured? I’ve read through the posts and seems results have been mixed....but then again I’m in a Gen 2 Sequoia and most of you guys have a Gen 3 Tundra
      • OEM Rear Camera - Again, can’t get it to work, I did read the posts with guys having to wire into the canbus but those were Gen 3 Tundras. Any help with a Gen 2 Sequoia?
      • USB / Aux - I was told that their was a connector to get this to work, did some research and purchased the one that was supposed to work. None of the connections seemed to work or fit so I’m stuck with this one as well. Again, I’d love to keep the install as OEM as possible without running the other USB and having them exposed.
      • GPS - Again, I read that I could connect the OEM GPS Antenna with a cable and a few connections. I probably got something wrong so I’d appreciate some direction in case I am ordering the wrong cable or connector
Other than that, extremely happy, love the screen, it did make the factory speakers sound a bit better and I really like all the customization options. I’m on the road a lot for my kids travel soccer so the big screen is a luxury I like and need! Thanks in advance for any help on the issues flagged in #4.

This is the correct HU for your vehicle. I believe a few people on this thread installed this unit for their second gen tundras so hopefully they can chime in. It should be plug and play if they provide you with the canbus harness. You don’t need anything else if you use the provided gps antenna and microphone. I believe you have to splice a wire or two for the backup camera but I’m not sure. Installation should be simple since it’s plugging connectors to connectors. There should be plenty of YouTube videos to show you how to install a new HU for the second gen tundra.

I have the original square model without the wireless CarPlay and I prefer this HU. I don’t know how well the wireless CarPlay works but using the CarPlay dongle has been fast and trouble free for me.

Regarding your issues. If you were provided with the correct canbus, everything should be plug and play.
    1) steering wheel control-did you change the canbus setting to RAV4?
    2) rear camera- I believe you have to splice a wire to get it to work so that the vehicle knows it’s in reverse. I don’t know which wire that is. 3rd gen tundra is plug and play.
    3) you don’t need to use any additional adapters. I would just use the provided gps attenna, microphone, and usbs.

I just installed the kit specific for the second gen which was bought from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XD8SJHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_nEw9Db28G9BRP

So far I am pretty happy with it but have one issue. The kit came with the harness but didn’t include the canbus decoder (ty-ss-05?). I’m assuming this is needed to get the steering wheels to work? I’ve tried every setting combo for the swc. It looks like others may have bought the same kit, did yours come with the decoder?

    Thanks in advance.

Same issue here, they sent me the exact same one they sent you. As I dug into it in the customer questions on Amazon for that unit it has a link of the canbus you need and it clearly says TY-SS-01. Just not sure why they are sending us the other one when they themselves list a different one.

I’ve also read through those and they all refer to that link if you have the jbl system with amp. I do not have the jbl system. I think either the -01 or-05 would probably both work for the swc but hopefully someone can confirm.

Dasaita 10.2 HU installed today, pretty easy install thanks in no small part to all the great info on this thread. Everything is working great, the only issue I had was trying to install my front cam. Somehow I managed to break the prong of the RCA jack trying to get it through the firewall. What an idiot. New cable arrives tomorrow.

No doubt that this is audio improvement over the JBL unit, now if I could just figure this weird Android stuff out.....

Thanks again to all who posted on this thread , it really was a huge help.

I got the same dash kit and I had to trim down the screw tabs too. I guess I did not mention it on this thread but on my audio build thread.

Does anyone know if there is anything that needs to be done to have this unit work with the FortinEvo remote start? I have not purchased it, but I do have the remote starter on my 3rd generation. Thank you.

I have a remote starter on my 3rd gen and there is no issue with this HU. Not sure what you meant. Do you want the HU to turn on when you start the engine by remote start?

I just want to have to do any splicing with the unit to get it to work. I thought it should work but I thought I read something about issues with the remote starter and this unit. Thanks

I have the Fortin remote start on my 19 tundra. Zero issues. Unit does not come on until you insert the key and turn it forward. Otherwise the wiring on the radio has nothing to do with the remote start.

I pulled out the unit and undid/reseated all the connectors and it finally recognized and I was able to map the keys. Canbus was set to simple rav4 and in the factory settings steering wheel was set to swc key. So I must have had a bad connection.

2 days since the install and there are lots i like about this HU but I am getting really frustrated with CARPLAY. This has built in wireless CarPlay and its really hit or miss if it will connect. I have an IPhone 11 and that maybe an issue from what I read on earlier posts. I emailed Dasaita to see if there is an update to ZLink. In the meantime I am not using CarPlay, its too frustrating. I disabled the ZLink app but when you plug the phone in to the USB ZLink tries to connect anyway and it seems to override everything , real pain in the ass. To make matters worse my phone is having hotspot issues but thats not related to the HU, as I cant connect my iPad to the phones Hotspot either.
