Lol. I'm lucky. The ones that get into my garbage are very polite. They never make a mess.
Had to put up a trail cam to what was making the mess, and 'coons were getting in, but never spilled it. Was the neighbor's damn dog. Blocked it off for the dog and the trash pandas pop in, eat, and leave without making a mess.

I'm told you can make a home made silencer for a .22 by slipping a baby pacifier over the barrel and cutting a cross pattern into the tip. Another option is an empty salt box attached to the end as well. Both muffle the "pop" of a .22 rifle.

While yes it does work - both are felonies - if you don't have a tax stamp...

I have the gammo silent stalker whisper. I believe it advertised at 1300 FPS which with certain pellets always break the sound barrier, causing them to be way louder than a 22 LR. Those pellets came with the gun. Set them aside for a later day when you don't mind drawing attention. Buy regular lead pellets. I use the Crossman .177 Lead Airgun Pellets which are significantly quieter than the chrome pellets.

The one thing I hate about it is the trigger. The trigger is heavy and take quite an effort to fire the gun. But, I'm spoiled with my competition guns (AR-15 and 1911's). They have 4 lb triggers. The Gamo, I'd guess has near a 8 to 10 lb trigger.

Here is a pretty good review of the gun I have:

If youre going pellet gun, dont use 177...get a 22 cal moving at ~1000fps at the very minumum. The crossman nitro venom a few years ago was a great option and quite inexpensive. Those guns have some serious jam for a little cheap air gun and theyre subsonic so no silencer needed (we cant use those in canada). If you can get good with it and can reliably get head shots then maybe shoot raccoons with it...personally I shoot racoons with a shotgun anymore. I had a big problem with coons killing my chickens a number of years ago, I cant tell you how many times I had them wander away after being hit multiple times with .22LR or even .22mag. We cant use night vision i canada, even with a flashlight its hard to hit them in the head at night. my wifes 20 gauge kills them dead (humanely) and its not terribly noisy compared to my 12 gaiuge. Alternately I would second the bow or crossbow idea. I was out with my Mathews last night looking for bambis father.
