I feel terrible because I saw the signature on @4x4_Angel and just thought it was in reference to when he rolled his orange truck. I hate to bring up any fresh wounds but man this just kicked me in the gut.

Yeah. It's weird how often I think of a guy I never actually met. But... often.

I was a new member on here and only talked to Conner a few times, didn’t really get to know him the way a lot of others did; but the outpouring of grief and disbelief and then the love for him, despite his short life on Earth, just speaks to the volume of what an awesome person he was and will always be missed and I grieve with all that knew him.

I can say that he is one of the reasons I have the quote from Shawshank Redemption on my signature.

I'd wondered what had happened to Conner since I see him referenced in a few of your signatures. I just read this entire tread. It's pretty amazing the outpouring of support from this forum. You all rock.

Sounds like the world lost a great guy. Sorry I never got to meet/chat with him.

I realize this is an old post but I wanted to see if anyone here who was friends with Connor saw the article from Phoenix that told the story of a young lady who attends ASU. I never knew your friend Connor and I haven't been on here in a couple of years maybe longer. Anyway, I happened upon this post and was struck by the sincere thoughts and wishes you all had for this young man. The article I came across detailed how this young lady from Kansas in 8th grade was playing basketball in her hometown and collapsed while playing. She now attends ASU. The gist of the story is she needed a new heart as hers had given out. It happened the same day as Connor passed on. She is the recipient of your friend's heart. And she has life because of him. I thought perhaps you might be interested. Don't mean to dig up old wounds but I thought this was just beautiful. Have a great Sunday.

Thank you for this Peter. Lots of memories in that article (roll over and 22 stitches). Damn Connor and I would argue about seatbelts. Sometime we would be arguing at 2am on the phone about it...then go back to chatting about rock crawlers. He never rode in my crawler for that reason alone.

Every year I'm reminded of this tragic event since it's so close to my wedding anniversary (Dec 1st). This brings me a little bit of peace about it and maybe "big picture" understanding.

This reminds me of the movie "two hearts" (real story) now that this information is known.

Not even knowing the situation or the friends involved, this is pretty sad. This might be easy for me to say, but I'd rather go out doing something I loved than wasting away in a hospital for weeks/months or wasting away for years as I received treatment that slowly killed me anyway.

I miss Conner fairly regularly for all kinda little reasons. This is a super cool "ending" to a what I thought was a short story. Now I'm gonna pretend she's got his heart in every way + seatbelts.
