Stoner tarminator works great for that and it's like $4 a can

Yea, if I could find something that worked well on the textured running boards without making them slick and/or attract dirt, I'd do it. Sucks...but it is what it is. It's mostly there blocking rocks from flinging up anyway. lol

No good answer so far for the nerf bars and Bakflip. Like I said, Cover All does better than most, but still just short term. I don’t feel like it attracts dirt, but overspray is an issue.

Shine supply trim shield works really well. I just don't put it on the stepping surface....okay I do sometimes lol. So I put grip tape in the rear sections for my daughter getting in and out. Its actually worked well. I'll snap a pic after my nap.

Those are some cool pics. The few made such tiny beads, and they are in lines and patterns, at least that's what I see.

Couldn’t get the pictures to show the improvement as well as I’d like, but I spent some time on my daughter’s Tundra yesterday. I wasn’t into detailing when I drove it, and used automatic washes pretty regularly. It has a good bit of swirl marks and scratches, and I’ve been meaning to do a good paint correction on it. She left to go back to school yesterday, so I only got one bedside and the hood done.

I used a Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber pad with Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream, followed with Essence and a Black Lake Country pad. Pics don’t do it justice, but the parts I did look a lot better. The Griot’s cream worked much better than Carpro Clear Cut in my opinion.

Reached 38° and sunny today. I did a rinseless wash with hot water and ECH2O. I wanted to try ONR but i can't find the bottle i just bought, unreal. Anyway it went well, I do like washing like this. Before I touched the panels with the towel I pre soaked with sprayed on ECH2O, then after I washed a panel I sprayed with Elixir for some extra protection. No issues or streaks. It's been cold and snowing and salty roads around here. Itll look like shit again in a few days but I'll enjoy it for now. I hope to do the interior later with some shine supply clean and shine.
I wish i took a before pic. It was white (and slow) from the door handles down. Itll look like that in a few days again.
The elixir made it super glossy and slick, I'm loving these carpro products, next time I'll try my ONR if I can find it in this house.

Used some Ech2o after a spear down to get the worst off. Not sure if I was supposed to apply on a wet truck but it seems to have worked. Lol.

and now it’s pouring rain out.

Ech2o can be used on a wet truck, it's best when applied dry but itll still work. I love the stuff, it has some sio2 in it which adds good protection. Hydro2 is something that will work well applied in rain too, and it lasts months instead of weeks

I have hydro2 but I didn’t want to use it without cleaning the truck thoroughly. I was trying out the waterless wash without trusting it enough to do it without the water. Seems to have turned out okay. I should have taken a picture when it was fresh and dry but I was in a hurry and forgot.

Washed my truck last night, and there was almost no hydrophobicity remaining on it. That’s the drawback of using wax like I have been doing. Once again, I’m reminded of how much harder it is to wash a vehicle with no protection. I’d also run it through a touchless wash the other day. That likely stripped any wax I had left on it.

Anyway, I’ve had some Shine Supply Wet Detailer on the shelf that I hadn’t tried yet, so I decided to check it out.

    https://shinesupply.com/products/wet-detailer?_pos=1&_sid=a7629065c&_ss=r

So the instructions on the site say to spray it on a wet panel, then dry. Pretty much the same method as Opti-Seal.
The instructions on the bottle, however, say to spray it on a towel, then dry the vehicle like normal. It says to spray a little more on the towel after each panel.

I tried it both ways, one in each side of the truck. The spray comes out pretty thick, so it took me a couple of panels to realize I was using too much. It was wanting to streak so I had to buff those panels off. After I figured out to really use very little, it went very well. I didn’t have a problem on the side where I only sprayed it on the towel.

I sprayed water on a few panels to check the hydrophobicity and it really seemed to be performing well. It got dark before I could get good pics, so I took some at the gas station this morning. It looks really nice and glossy, and I’ll get some pics after the sun comes up to see it better.

Overall, not a really expensive product, and the method of spraying it on the towel before drying has to be one of the easiest application methods I’ve ever used next to Hydro2.

I did notice the spots on the cab after I looked at the pic. Don’t know if that is product that needs buffing, or just morning dew.

Ha! Thanks man. I'm actually one of those odd ones who doesn't use water on his cars, just a microfiber duster and then microfiber towels with spray waxes. And of course the various stuff for trim, glass and tires.

Year round light coats every weekend makes it shine like crazy, rather than one or two thick coats a year. Just like when I polish my black boots and make a glass toe cap: lots of light layers for the deepest black shine. :D
