I am replacing my headlight switch to enable Auto headlights. I got the sensor, harness & switch. I replaced my cluster with the optiron Limited cluster and while it was apart going to install the sensor and harness and luckily it was already there.

What is left is installing the switch. I cannot find a write up for the switch so I hoped someone has done this and can help. If not I'll turn this thread into a DIY.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes please
Watching, as I need to replace my switch, as my headlights are becoming more auto off than on lately.

Those links already saved me frustration. I thought I already had a sensor but the write up said if you have the harness it's in a blank & it was.

    IMG_5398.jpg
So I installed the one I bought. I was able to pry it with a tiny screwdriver so I didn't have to take the cluster out again.

I did it, it was pretty easy. It works but is odd. When I started the truck in the garage they were on, I pulled out and they didn' turn off. I went inside and searched, didn't find anything and when I went outside and pulled into the garage they turned on! I pulled out (it's light out) didn't go off.

    Dunno.

Worked perfectly this morning but still dark so I'll have to see at lunch if they don't come on. I used a sharpie and made a line to get the steering wheel on center & still missed.

It'll have to come off to move it over to center.

Which model do you have that had the harness already behind the blank? I've got a 2012 SR5 w/out nav, but it had a few other options like backup cam, bluetooth, trailer tow, etc and I'm wondering if I'm going to have it up there

Mine is the same although I bought it without the OEM head unit so don't know if it had BT. I bet you have the harness (but I have the one I bought if you need it)

In that case, all you did was plug in the sensor and replace your stalk then? From my understanding that's all you had to do?

Also, looking at your username, I’m assuming you have one of the best driving convertibles on the planet

What was the part number for the harness? I took off the sensor blank today and there was no wiring attached the the blank. I may already have the wiring under the cluster, but I want to hold off on opening it up until I have everything I need.

I'm pretty sure there's lots of Porsche pilots that would disagree but yup.

I had to get the harness form Japan & can't find the info, I looked for the harness it's self and can't find it either. I "organized" the room it was in & garage & now everything is in bins where I can't find anything.

    Sorry.

I may have to see photos of the cabrio. I came from the BMW world. I had two e30 325is, an e46 325Ci vert, an e53 X5 and an e60 535i with a 6-speed.

Is it possible that it's the 82210-0C020 harness in the picture above?
