My Dad is picking this up on Saturday. Drove it and put money down on it today.
2002, LX470, original owner, 115k. Absolutley perfect. Garage kept. Bottom side looks like a 1 year old vehicle.

I'm probably more excited than him. Absolutley no issues and needs nothing. The front seats have brand new leather (looks factory), back seats look like they've never been used. Timing belt and water pump done at dealer 7k ago.

It will stay close to stock. The AHC system works perfectly and all the components still look new. It will be a family hauler and road trip vehicle.

It will get a hitch and protective film on the front end.

The AHC scares me a little. I guess we'll deal with it if/when it becomes a problem. Any other Lexus on here with the AHC system? Looks like there are plenty of routes to get rid of it and replace with standard components if need be.

Wow. Awesome find. No rust at all. We will most likely be getting a GX to replace my wife’s Subaru at some point in the near future.

They're hard to come by clean ones under 200k miles anymore. My dad has looked at a half dozen in the last few months, this was the one.

I like the GX, the back end is more attractive.

I thought it was a fair price based on market within 200 miles, condition, and miles on vehicle.

It really is an excellent price. A quick search showed one with 20k more miles, not as clean, for over 2k more, as the best equivalent(in the Chicagoland area). A great find indeed!

The LX is the Lexus version of the Land Cruiser.

You should check out forum.ihatemud.com - they have tons of info on them and they are GREAT people. Very helpful, like the people on this forum.

Meant to respond to this with a multi-quote. Go to https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/100-series-cruisers.26/

The LX470 is the fancier version of the Landcruiser 100 series. People say they are bulletproof. You do hear about AHC issues but the guys on the forums have answers for everything.

    Your dad did good.

    4.7 V8.

I hope it's bulletproof because I'll be the one working on it.

I've been researching AHC for 2 days. Looks like if it works, great, if it doesn't then ditch it completely. Fix is to remove all components and then swap LC shocks, rear coils, and torsion bars. I hope the AHC lasts for another 100k and I never have to touch it.

Somewhere on the Mud forums somebody asked how long those the engines last. The answer was that nobody knows because they have yet to fail.

these are solid vehicles and that's a great price. Yes, if the AHC goes out, then swap out to non-AHC lift....tons of info on Ih8mud

Painted wheels and center caps this weekend.

Parents have taken this on many trips in the last few months. Very solid vehicle. Very quiet in the cabin. We took it on a 6 hour trip in February. I want one.

Many of the land cruisers did not have AHC and because of that many people look for them over the 470. I have a 06 470 and I really enjoy it a lot
