My build thus far

Still pretty green on posting, creating etc.. so here it goes.
2017 limited CM 4X4 with 295/70 R18’s Cooper Maxx St. Pro Comp 3/1 leveling kit and Iron Cross HD steps all blacked out. Just did the BMC to make room for 35’s, and Coachbuilder shims for front bumper. Coil overs in near future too.

 

Coach builder bumper shims installed without removing the bumper! Score!! This will suffice until I get a new aftermarket bumper.

8 bolts total. Removed 7 and all screws holding plastic trim. Also removed tow hooks for ease of access. Was just enough to pull bumper away from frame and insert shims. Unfortunately had to bore out top hole as there was zero tolerance and plates wouldn’t slide on. After a quick fix they went right in. Bumper protrudes a slight bit more than stock but nothing too bad.

 

It’s about time! Hopefully by next week the transformation will be closer to completion.

So far so good!! Seeing progress will be fun!

 

Well..got half of my stuff installed. One happy camper! Drives great with these Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Only time will tell how they wear. I got so excited about the price I paid for the tires I forget to tell my tire guy to mount the other side of the Nitto tread out. I’ll live with it until I get my Icons mounted and get an alignment.

 

Looks good. Do you think it took longer to do the shims the way you did it?

 

I was actually surprised at how easy and quick the installation went. It allowed me to put shims in without the hassle of removing a bunch of other items. I was by myself and having a second set of hands would’ve been nice. I didn’t set out to install the shims this way until I found a video on YouTube and it actually worked.

Little at a time... piece by piece but she’s getting there. Icon suspension made a world of difference for sure.

Yeah it was that way on the tacoma forum too. I'm down in Cruces all the time to visit my brother and his wife. Maybe I'll run in to you some day.

Im in Ruidoso a lot. Grew up
Skiing on Ski Apache and Mountain Biking in the summers. Also went to NMSU back in the day. Always hit up Lost Hiker brewery since they opened up. Cool to see some NM Tundra’s in this part of the state!
