Does anyone else wish Toyota backlit our dash gauges during daytime driving? This seems to have been standard on every other Toyota vehicle I've owned (four others). Headlights on, night mode dimmed gauges; headlights off, full bright backlit gauges...

Has anyone come up with a fix/mod for this?

Wait, you can't adjust the lights on the dash when it comes to a 3rd gen Tundra?

No kidding. For me, that would be a big no.

    More on the topic gents...https://www.tundras.com/threads/dash-light-issue-case-filed.7017/#post-104083

Dash Light illumination. On Page 89 of the OM it said "The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be adjusted by turning the “ODO/TRIP” button". This action ONLY adjusts the brightness/dimness of the Multi-Info Display, NOT the Tachometer, Speedometer, or the gauges (these can only work by turning the headlight/parking lights on)

I was able to make mine somewhat better by turning up the sensitivity, essentially making the headlights come on sooner during 'dusk' conditions, not perfect but better...

Read on in the other thread...

Me either really. Didn't notice it until I read the thread and determined what others were saying. Then I noticed it during a rainy day and then experimented with settings. It must bother some more than others...
