    New to the tundra community!

Living in Carrollton and looking to get my tundra trail and camping ready!
Unfortunately- I do not have the experience to do this all my self, but looking for some local recommendations

    Welcome Zach!
Us Fort Worth folks get together regularly and help out working on each others trucks. If you're interested in getting more into working on the truck let us know, and you can drop in on one of our mod days

    Man that would be great!
I’m not looking for anything major! Just some small things to help move better on the dirt trails.

Been reading around, and it seems the belstein 6112 /5160 w/ reservoirs seems to be the go to.
Setting at the highest setting should give close to 2.5 lift giving enough clearance for 33 12.5. Is that true?

@Larmand is running that setup with 35x12.5x18's with no issue. He did have to get a cab mount chop though. Not sure if you would need to for 33s though...
Cab mount chop is definitely not a DIY project in my opinion

Wow- 35s on that set up! With no rub on turns?
    That would be even better!

Was looking around the thread for some spots to trial ride and camp w/ the family. Found some responses in the early part of this forum. Any additional spots?

No rub that I know of, but he will likely chime in when he frees up for more advice

Bridgeport OHV park is the easy answer to that. There is a campground right by the park with great views, and waterfront spots. Plus Bridgeport is chock full of easy all the way to crazy trails. If you're one for Facebook, there is a group on there called Texas Overland, and they are a fantastic source for trip guides, maps, recommendations, etc.

Welcome! Like the others said, Bridgeport is the closest to Carrollton. Next closest is Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer about 2 1/2 hours east. Here are a few others several hours drive from you:

    Hidden Falls
    Hot Springs OHV
    Katemcy Rocks
    Escondido Draw

If you’re willing to put in a day’s drive for some mostly easy trails:

    Big Bend National Park
    Santa Fe National Forest

Didn’t know the Ft. Worth people were organizing wrench-a-thons. I think that’s great!

YES! I have 35 12.5 18 on that setup. I had slight plastic rub after CMC only on left turns, on driver side, full lock on a bump. It has since gone away after a bit of tread wear.

It was a guy i know who has his own little garage. It was a win win deal, cause hes only available on weekends.

    Need some help guys-

just installed the 6112 in the front top setting -
5160s w/revisor in back- also a inch toytecshackle.

I thoughT running 33x12.5x18 would not require any additional mods to fit. But I’m rubbing behind the front number on tight turns/ removed the mud flaps front and back on fronts but still some rubbing. Anysuggestions?D78D197E-67A8-4766-B87E-E18DB2872F32.jpg

Looks great. The rubbing is normal with the Tundra's unique, tight wheel wells. Unless you lift it sky high, it seems like no matter the lift it'll still rub no matter what with lower off-set wheels.

Getting some major vibration through out the truck right at 80mph. Is this from the tires or is something not set correct?

running 33x12.5x18 toyo open country RT

    Any ideas?

Do any of you guys know a great mechanic not too far from the North Dallas area? Possibly someone already familiar with Tundras.

Try rotating the tires front to back and see if it goes away. If it does, then it’s one of the front tires.

Davenport motors are Toyota specialists, and are quite familiar with Tundras.

If you need a good general mechanic, I recommend Mondo. He's done work on several of my cars, including the Tundra, and he does high quality work at a good price.

Relatively new to the forums. Happy owner of my 4th Toyota truck, a 2020 1794. Definitely interested in what others in Fort Worth are blowing their paychecks on. I have this rig for 3 whole days now. Absolutely LOVE this truck. I already put on the AMP Research steps. Changing out the chrome mirror caps and 4x4 on the tailgate. Eventually will do the grill and hood bulge to MGM Pro. I have some Fuel wheels I like, Leer Cap and Locker... man too much stuff. Next will probably be the sway bars and Bilsteins 6112/5160. Are there FW meetups?
