What is the setup on your 5100s, do they have stock springs with a spacer ontop?

Spacer sandwich between thje top perch and coil springs. Bottom settings. I kept the oem springs since I don't have any need for an upgrade.

Interesting, why would you do put the spacer in instead of just using a higher slot on the 5100 spring perch?

I ordered the level kit before getting the 5100. Since I already have it, might as well install it.

Nice truck. I gave the pathfinder at's a try for my current set, couldnt beat the price for the 295-70-18. A solid tire, great in snow, offroad and still somewhat quiet on the hiway, 20k so far and the wear is excellent

Filled up the tank, disconnected the battery, drove 90 miles, set cruise control to 75mph for 80 miles. Average speed 73/74mph on I95. 16mpg best, mostly 15.9.

I have about 1200 pounds in the bed, 55/60psi. 2" level with 1" rake.

Thanks! I had it in my 05 Tundra as well, I almost installed it in my 16, but I decided to trade it in instead. It's a great tire. I was looking into Wild Peaks, but 69# per tire vs my 55# 275.65.18. I am considering Cooper Tires discoverer AT3 XLT's 61# or go with Pathfinder 63# 295.70.18.

Nice ride... did you notice diminished bed bounce with the air bags on the rear?

Thanks! I had two different experiences with two different brand airbags in a with 2 different 3rd gen with the same load. '16 DC and '20 DC. Both have same exact topper and bed load. '16 had an Air Lift, the '20 have Firestone.

I selected the airlift because of the internal jounce bump stop. But it felt too bumpy, like I am riding directly on the axle. I changed the air pressure up and down just to find a happy medium. But was not successful. Air Lift did not work for my application.

I installed Firestone for the '20. Empty bed with 5psi is just like running on stock shocks and spring unless it's a harsh dip. Then you feel the bag work. When loaded I just ad an inch lift to the rear over the front. It worked well for me.

Now the answer to your question. It did not diminished the bed bounce, but minimized it in some way. Paring it with a good shocks over OEM made a huge difference. The OEM shocks valving is not sufficient enough with the added spring weight during rebound. That's where you get your bounce. Compression and rebound, and frequency or it makes it unstable.

Below is the video of it driving the maximum posted speed limit of 65mph 300lbs in the bed, OEM shocks before the Air Lift. Passing lane was where I almost bounced off the road towards the guard rails the day before, the main reason I made the video.

I'll video my drive tomorrow 65mph, Firestone Ride Rite Air Springs with 5100's and 1200lbs in the bed. It will still bounce, but the same or less due to the help of the upgraded shocks.

Here you go, even was able to keep the front wheel spats (look close and you can see where I added a screw).

Thanks! I'm done spending money on this rig for now, need to divert the money back to the race car, or off road camper build. And finish typing up the Adobo Recipes. ;)
