Just bought a 2006 and it has a leveling kit all ready installed with some very ugly wheels and tires. Looking to upgrade and wondering how tall of a tire I could go withouto rubbing
    Right now it has 265/70/16

I just had a crazy idea of painting them either satin or gloss black and doing 285/75/16 I think they should fit and will hold me over for a while

I had Bilstein 5100s on my first gen, 2.5" lift just about, and I ran 285/75/16s on some 10" wide wheels with no rubbing at all. The only thing I had to trim was the bottom portion of the bumper a little bit. If you went with a 9" wide rim probably wouldn't have to trim anything at all I'm thinking.

Also, congratulation on the new to you truck! I miss my first gen from time to time, they are some well made trucks.. Never had an issue with mine, clocked nearly 250k miles on it before I traded it in. Nothing wrong with it then either, just wanted something different/newer.

    Good luck

61k  That's hard to come by for a ten year old truck! That's awesome!

With a 9" wide wheel you should be perfectly fine, I had to trim because of the highly negative offset of the wheels
