So I noticed yesterday when my tailgate is down the left side cable is tight and the right side is loose. Does anybody else have this issue? Is it an issue? Is there an adjustment to make them equally tight when it's down?

Lol, sorry fellas. My concern is whenever there's any weight on the tailgate, it's only being supported by the one cable. Not sure if that's a long term safety issue or not.

Not to revive an old thread but one of mine is the same. But, I only noticed after getting my Line X sprayed in. It closes perfectly and contacts the bed latches at the same time. I might need to remove it and re seat it in the brackets where the tailgate is attached to the truck bed. Kind of weird. I thought they were safety but the brunt of the weight was on the hinges anyway. Could be wrong.

Anybody found what causes it? I noticed my left side is loose, and search tab brought me here.

Mine was like that. Dealer replaced under warranty a few years ago. The new cable definitely helped, though it's still slightly slack, but with just a slight pressure (5lbs of pressure or less) it tightens up so I'm not worried at all about it.
