    Hello All,

I just upgraded to a 2008 tundra from my 2006 Tacoma camper. I am going to be building it out like my Tacoma in prep for another camper being delivered in December or January.

Check out: https://campovrlnd.com/ for more information on the base camper!

    Obligatory pic of my Tacoma.

Before being able to drive the truck back had to put new tires on. Went with 275/70/18 grabber atx’s

With Black Friday sales going on, I can really make progress on the truck base portion of the build.

Picked up a full OME kit with 612 springs, ARB bumper, Smittybilt 12k winch, rci front skid plate, and some other odds and ends

Lift went on pretty easy, glad to get this install out of the way.

The lift is a old man emu 612s and leaf springs / shocks. First test ride around the neighborhood shows to ride good. With the camper it should site nicely.

During this week I mostly got the bumper finished, just need new fog lights, turn signal wiring, and to extract some old skid plate screws that got broken off by previous owner.

First stage of electrical upgrades have started. Threw in a group 31 Duracell agm, 105 amp hour. Used some slee battery terminal extenders to get the stock power cables to fit.

have some blue sea fuse blocks on order and various other connectors, etc

Starting doing a little more electrical work today while parts come in / time allows. Worked on installing a noco onboard battery charger for when I need to top up after the truck is sitting, and I don’t want to run solar, etc etc etc

also started with my truck electronic side of things. I am using a rago fabrication battery tie down, blue sea fuse block, busmann circuit breaker, and some deutsch connectors.

Noticing your mounting of the propane tank. I wanted to mount a 10 lb alumium one with PowerTank bracket on the Tundra tailgate. My brother says that is agains DOT regulations. Said it has to been within the frame of the vehicle. Every get hassled about your mounting location?

I haven’t had any problems with the propane tank mounting on the outside of the camper. Maybe with a commercial vehicle you could run into problems. With the research I did the only problem I found would be on certain tunnels that have a low spot in the middle of the tunnel, they don’t want a propane leak to pool at the bottom of the tunnel. But that was for propane in general, not just mounting on the outside of a truck.

Been slowly working on my on board air setup. Running a victory 4x4 mount, viair manifold, arb compressor, and 3/8 push to connect fittings.

I also installed some rago fabrication bed stiffeners to tighten up the bed for the new camper.

Seems like a standard practice on teardrop trailers and overland vehicles. Sounds like millions of people are on the edge of propane chaos or maybe your brother needs to take the standard issue aviators off a couple hours a day.

@crolison that Tacoma is sweet! I imagine your tundra will be equally awesome. I certainly appreciate how clean your wiring is. Nothing like chasing issues in a rat nest.

I have thought about bed stiffeners but I am planning on a fridge slide out and drawers. I know SDHQ makes a bed stiffener that is hidden. Anyone have any experience with that one?

The noco battery charger is just directly connected to the battery, this allows for topping off and just maintaining during times I don’t drive the truck or prepping for trips, it’s kind of a back up to the solar setup they will be coming with the camper.

With the weather being so well today in Denver I got to mount up my grandpa sliders. Essentially work as a small side step, but tight enough and sturdy enough as sliders

So finally installed the headliner on the OVRLND Camper. Jay and I have been working on a headliner option, so with the install and some testing this should be an option/maybe standard on OVRLND Campers.

also worked a little but on the lower section and finishing it out.
