I have 13 CM with the standard CD player and managed to put a light 3” scratch on the clear part of the radio face while camping.

Has anyone had any luck polishing out anything similar?

How deep is it? Polishing is grinding away the area around the scratch to level it out. You've got to take an equal depth of material off around the scratch and taper it to the normal level. I have not done anything like that, but here's a video on how to do it. The scratches he's working on are just light scratches from use though. Not sure if this will take care of yours, but if anything, it will be less apparent. It looks to be a huge pain in the ass.

Try toothpaste with tartar control, or Meguiars makes a product. Test somewhere else first.
