Now I have been searching for awhile and can't make up my mind. Any opinions on which headlights to put on 2014 Crewmax or which brands to stay away from. Pics and opinions welcome.

    Bulbs or assemblies?

I originally went with the Phillips led h4 replacement bulbs and they were $200. Not bad. Def better than stock halogen h4s.

Now I have factory 2019 trd pro led assemblies that I got with the harness for just over $700. No regrets. Wish they were out when I spent the $200 on the bulbs and just put that money towards the factory led assemblies.

Now I have a better look, better output and decent cutoff, and super bright usable high beams.

there are some decent drop in bulbs people use on Amazon if $700 is out of reach

I also really like the OEM LEDS on my '19 TRD off road but looks like there are some good aftermarket options out there as well

I currently have HID retrofits with d2s. The output was amazing at first. The retro fitter used a cheap drl strip and it began failing after 6 mo. I have had a lot of issues with one part or another failing, igniter, moto control etc. I tried Alpha Owls and they were complete crap. I was looking at the Morimoto XBs but the high beam output is is only about 60% of OEM LEDs. The OEM low beam output is slightly lower than the XBs but in the end I went with OEM LEDs for the reliability. Hoping they arrive soon.

I don’t have the coin for the mega-buck LEDs and bought Beamtechs from Amazon. ($200-700 is insane)

Definitely whiter than stock halogens, easy to install and don’t have a lot of spill that can annoy oncoming drivers.
(I turned my lights down 1 notch because of Leer tonneau tri-fold, bed rug and other stuff in the bed)
Plug & play w/o needing resistors. They were $39.

They may not look “cool” because I still have the stock light housing but I have a buttload more money for gas!

You'll definitely love them, as I do. One of the best mods yet I have done and definitely a head turner when it comes to those turn signals. Congrats!

Just installed the Morimoto XB on my 2018 and the turn signals do not function. not in the front or the rear including the hazard function. I have submitted a video to TRS and am patiently awaiting a fix. if anyone else has encountered this issue and has a remedy please let me know.

If neither works, maybe a blown fuse?

Spyders are known for moisture and delamination issues after a year or so, you'd be better off with alpharex

It's not a blown fuse, ask me how I know. My 5 month old Platinum is at the dealer needing a new instrument cluster because the harnesses supplied by the seller were not correct.......

Update I was told to remove the jumper for the turn signals and that resolved my issue. So if you have LED DRLs do not follow Morimotos directions and leave the connectors off.

What trim level is your truck? Did you have issues with the turn signals and dash warning lights?

Glad you got it sorted out! Unfortunately the harnesses, plugged in the way the seller told me to, screwed up my instrument cluster! Need a whole new cluster which is on back order for 3-4 weeks! Now my new Platinum is sitting at the dealer while I'm stuck driving a new RAV4 for several weeks as a loaner.........ugh!

No specifics from Toyota. All they said is that it wasn't the flasher relay/fuse and that it burned out something in the cluster.

The seller is completely useless too. After ordering the lights overnight and being told they'll work on my truck I go to install them and they don't work. They stroke me for 2.5 weeks on getting the harnesses to me. Then the issue with the lights not working after installing the harnesses for the third time. I politely tell them I want to return them because I don't have time to keep taking my truck apart to install them again after the harness issue. I'm told I have to pay return shipping! Asked them why I have to pay return shipping on an expensive item that doesn't work? Then I'm told they can't be returned because they're used! Contacted my CC company, sent them all the emails between seller and myself. CC company gladly charged back the money from the sellers account and gave me the credit. After all this, I get a douchebag email from seller bitching and moaning how there's always gonna be issues with new products and how I "jumped ship" on an item that can be re-wired to work. SMH.

Damn what a cluster, no pun intended. I know its too late, but have you looked into the OEM LEDs and a @iHacker harness? Its what I am running on my 19 and have had no issues.

Is Toyota going to warranty the cluster or is it out of your pocket?

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck there.

I have the OEM LED's as my truck is a Platinum. Toyota is covering under warranty as I put the stock LED's back in and brought it to the dealer.

I have a '14 Limited and installed 2020 LED factory headlights with harness. My front turn signals or flashers don't work. Rear signals are fine. When the lights are turned off the front signal/flashers work fine. Any ideas?
