I have not heard of this issue. Did you try or notice the surging in different modes?

    just under $300 IIRC.

Happened at various levels in city mode. I'm not a tech guy and don't know how PC does its thing but what it felt like to me was kinda like if you hold a light switch just so and the lights will flicker on and off...but with the throttle. Foot was barely on the throttle.

I keep mine on city +2 and haven't had any issues. The only thing I've experienced and it's only happened one time was a stutter or hesitation after going from +2 down to -1 on the fly. Got home, turned the truck off, restarted and everything was fine and it hasn't happened since. I have noticed that the pedal is a bit more touchy on bumpy roads but haven't noticed it on the highway.

I have no such issues with my PC. I keep it on City +1. Runs smooth on the highway, no jerkiness noticed.

So I switched to sport -3 to see how it felt before pulling the unit.

apparently sport at those levels is much smoother initial tip in than city. might keep it....

Berettafan, I just installed mine yesterday and noticed the same surging thing that you mentioned above. I initially put it into city mode +2 on my way to work this morning. It started doing that surging thing right around 70 mph with my foot barely on the pedal. It seemed like it got worse the longer I was cruising at 70. Changed the setting on my way home from work and still was doing it at around the same speed, even up to 80. I contacted PC and will report back when I hear from them. Tomorrow I will try Sport -3 to see if there is any difference.

It shouldn't do that in any mode. I would ask for a replacement.

Hi , curious a sport button? I just watched a video that said tow/haul mode is just that ? I hope to try that button tomorrow. I also read Toyota does not recommend using it constantly. Your thoughts?

The tow/haul button makes the throttle more sensitive...maybe too sensitive imo. Not smooth at all. My PC in city mode drives very smooth, no jerkiness of the throttle. I've had it on my truck for almost a year and no issues. Hope this helps.

It does not, and it is untraceable to the ECM.

I find my truck downshifts a lot on very small rolling roads. Does this help at all with this? Cruise set at 100kmh/60mph and its downshifting on inclines that my old tacoma had no issues with.

I'd like to know about MPG differences... if 'eco' really helps...

no, I didn't buy mine for eco... but I am more curious to it's claims.

For what it's worth...I researched the Pedal Commander and a competitor called Sprint Booster. I went with the Sprint Booster and have been very pleased with how it brought my 2019 Platinum to life...more responsive, little or no pedal delay. Sprint Booster is also more subtle in design. Works great!

Put in the PC today. Didn’t have much time to drive it more than around the block a couple of time. Going to do some driving tomorrow to see if I like it.

Easy hook up. Paired up with a Gibson cat back exhaust and Volante coldair intake.. Only had it for few days, lots of fun in sport and extreme sport. Instant pedal response.. Be careful in poor traction conditions.

.....Girlfriend disliked the truck before, too loud, too big, now she really hates it. The fact it puts a smile on my face when I get on it pisses her off. Yes I'm happy with the PC..

Well after having the PC in for a few days, I'm keeping it. Sport/+2 seems the right amount of fun for me. Supposed to get some rain here today so I'll try it out in the wet and see if I need to make an adjustment.

Does anyone know if they are compatible with 2020 models?
I have one, was using it on the '18 I had and enjoyed it. I had it set to City+2 or something. But I'm apprehensive about putting it on the '20 especially since I'm still below 1000 miles and the throttle seems to respond very differently from what the '18 was.

I have one that I have used in my 2019 for almost a year without any issues, and yesterday I had to pull it because it started making my truck go nuts and throw lots of codes, check engine lights etc. Dealership couldn't reset codes or resolve until I unplugged the pedal commander. Sucks. I really like the PC, but not sure why it was suddenly causing my truck to spaz. Can't put it back in until i get that figured out.

How do you know that the PC caused the codes? Did pulling the PC fix all issues?

The technician couldn't get the truck to stop having codes, or clear the codes successfully until the PC was removed. Once removed, everything worked correctly and the truck was back in working order. Obviously, I am trusting the tech and the dealership, but they were adamant that they couldn't resolve the issue until the PC was removed. As far as I know from the paperwork and discussion they did nothing else to the truck. Most of the errors I saw were related to the Pre-Collision System. One pop-up that appeared with the check engine light was something to do with autobreaking. I had check engine light, maintenance light, PCS off light and tracktion control off lights all on my dash. It was complaining about the PCS on my dash LCD every 30 seconds or so. What I don't understand is why it suddenly was an issue after working great for months. I am afraid to put it back in and see what happens lol.
