Looking for support- just purchased a 2019 TRD PRO. About to install aftermarket seat heaters. And suggestions on ACC power and constant power options to tap from in under dash fuse panel?

Well how much current (watts) will the heaters pull? That will determine where you should connect.

I'd recommend a full hot connection to the battery with a fuse right at the battery connection point for ultimate protection. That way in your NH winters you'll get the maximum amount of power to heat up.

Then remember you can use the passenger heater to keep food toasty hot on the way home any day of the year - that's the best use of my seat heaters in central Texas, woohoo! Luck and enjoy your Toyota.

Thanks for the recommendation. Here in New Hampshire, we Just got dumped on by Mother Nature with 2feet of snow with heavy water content. These heaters cannot get here fast enough.
I’ll check the actual draw- in looking at other Tundra OEM fuse panels with factory installed seat heaters, it’s calling out a 20A fuse, in efforts to keep it as OEM “looking” as possible, I’ll do a draw test from a 12v battery on the bench first.

A 20amp source would provide 20Ax12V=240 watts of current. Assuming each seat (bottom & back) use 85 watts, then you can wire up the front two seats safely to thd 20amp source, leave some some to spare. Luck and enjoy.

I just installed a kit in my wifes 19 4runner each side came pre wired with a 10 amp inline fuse.
So i would guess the amp draw would be 5 to 8 amps each side. I put a 7.5 amp fuse in temporary because i popped the original 10 amp and it worked fine with the 7.5 fuse till i got a 10 amp replacement

Nope... they don't even offer it from the factory for 19's that i am aware of. Basically a Pro is a SR5 with leather, wheels, and Fox suspension, we still get the Standard urethane steering wheel too.

I am having to do the same thing.

Stoddard, are you saying to tap the 4 gauge lead?

That may be a cleaner install than I have with my add a fuses....

I installed some from Amazon in my 2016 last year. There's a fuse for heated seats under the dash. Yes, even if you dont have them. I used an add a fuse and worked perfectly. I ran both wires to the center console, where I put the switches, and to the dash where the fuse was. There's a write up on this page somewhere I used to guide me.

Although some may not agree, I tapped into my 12v cigarette light plugs to power my aftermarket seat heaters.
I don't use those plugs for anything else.
I actually replaced both console 12V, one with USB and the other with USB and HDMI that goes to my HU.

I did keep an inline fuse that came with the heaters.
They really don't draw that much power.
You'll rarely use them on HIGH unless you want your ass on fire.

No way would I put them unswitched to ACC directly from the battery.
Too easy to forget to turn them off.

Have not had a problem in 2 years since the install.
I put them in just for the wife, but I use them myself a lot more than I thought i would.

thanks for the response. I’ll run with 20amp and grab power from the fuse bank under dash. The brand is called Watercarbon and likely made overseas ( trying to be politically correct here ) and the switch for me is what matters most.

No sir- I was baffled by it too. Coming out of a limited dbl cab, this was a change. Urethane steering wheel, plastic color coordinated bumpers.

Not sure if the image posted of the actual location I’m intending to install the switch in. The width and length seem to be in line with what I purchased, I’m concerned about the depth of the new switch. C564B26E-C3BE-45C9-BD70-2497A0D4FA94.jpg

This was true up to 2017, I think. ‘18 and up does not have this provision on the fuseblock.

Thank you for the write up on the heated seats. Good info. Surprising what some manufacturers add as options, or leave out for mid-upper level trims.

If your interior left kick fuse panel is like this, there’s a blank 20A Seat Heater you can add a fuse (Amazon). It’ll only operate when the ignition is on so no fires, unless as you said you want access to constant power. Put the switches where you can easily see and operate while driving.
