Not worth it I had my Benz done I spent $600 for it and Yes oh Yes it looks great but then I went and got that Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax for $14 from O Riley auto parts for my new truck and got the same results on the new truck plus it is actually out lasting the *@%^&** Ceramic Coating and cost zilt to refinish also it is so easy to do. The Ceramic Coating does require to be Replenished for a $100. The only benefit from the Ceramic coating job is if your ride's paint is old and worn they do a bit of work to "correct" it first but a good detail shop can do that too for less.

Guy at my work has a 7 year old Porsche that I thought was brand new. He purchased the black Porsche new and immediately took it to get ceramic coated for the cost of 3 grand. He had the entire exterior done to include the exhaust and the thing looks brand new to include the exhaust. I would say definitely worth it after seeing what this guys Porsche looks like. But he did say it only lasts for 5 years I believe is what he said. If it was a one shot deal for 3 grand I would probably make the investment or if I had unlimited funds.

the one im looking at is $800 and it lasts about 5 years. There are longer lasting ones but ive had the truck now for almost 2 years and will probably have it for another 5-7 years so thats the one I was thinking. The longer lasting ones are like around the $1600-$1800 range and last roughly 10 years. What I should've done was get the hood, front fenders wrapped when I bought it at least but next time

A lot of this is misinformation or fake news. Megs ceramic wax is not the same as a ceramic coating, coatings are not just for old cars with worn out paint, they do not require replenishing for $100, and if you paid $600 installed for ceramic on a mercedes then you should have known it wouldn't last. Mercedes paint is known to be hard, very hard, so polishing alone in prep for ceramic would have cost more than $600. Ceramic is best on newer paint that is mostly defect free, or fully corrected paint. You don't have to replenish ceramic but it's a good idea to do a maintenance sio2 spray on it every 6month, this can be DIY for about $15-20 and takes an hour tops after a wash. You don't have to have ceramic done by a pro anymore, in fact you can get a really good DIY ceramic for under $75 and with proper prep it can last 3-5 years. I'm not trying to bash you, but provide accurate information about ceramic coatings.

With all due respect, this couldn’t be more wrong, and I’m not even a fan of ceramic coating.

    Ditto on this.

Personally, it’s not for me. I had it done about a year ago, and by this point I’ve stripped it all off. I just like playing around with different products too much to really get a benefit out of something that lasts that long.

There’s definitely value in it, especially if you don’t enjoy doing the work yourself. Like Sean said, a good one is gonna run a good bit of money.

I got 50ml of CQ UK 3.0 for $50 recently. Idk what I'm gonna do with it. If I put it on my truck I'm gonna be awfully bored. I wanna try it but maybe I can install it on a car for someone and make my money back 10 fold.

Ha ha ha. I deserve that one. But I know you're also serious and will hang onto that bottle to prove a point. I wonder how our boy is doing. He certainly has quieted down quite a bit lately and still hasn't released any more shield or whatever he will call it next.

I did it myself with cquartz 3.0 and spraying the reload on whenever I wash it. I think thats worth it. If you have to spend $2500 and it's a work truck, not worth it
