On another page some people complained because I grill without fire & coals (I use a pellet smoker/grill most of the time). So, I made a fire just to show that I can.

My pellet pooper grills just as good as my gas grill does, just takes a little bit to get to temp. Mine also has an option to slide the top portion of the burner cover tray down and get some direct sear. Works great for what I do!

I agree. I have 9 grills/smokers but I use the pellet grill 90% of the time. It is convenient and versatile, and I can get all kinds of flavors as needed. win-win.

Some good looking food! I have a lot of grills and the pellet smoker/grill is most versatile and by far does the heavy lifting. My Yoder YS640 is up to temp in no more than 10 minutes. I see temps from 150 to 750 degrees. It does everything very well and flat out the best. Love my pellet grill!!!

I cheat a little - I usually put them in the microwave for 10 minutes. They will be about 90% done. Then I cut them and add cheese, bacon, ham, or whatever I decide to put on (or in the slices) and put it on the smoker for about an hour. Smoker is usually at 225 or so, depending on what else is cooking. Sometimes I crank the smoker up to 400 and spray the potatoes with olive oil close to the end to crisp the skin a little.

If you don't do the microwave cheat I would say about 2 hours at 225 to 250 would be enough to cook them through.

Just found this today, Dicks has everything 25% off. Got the Camp Chef FTG600 4 burner griddle for $88 off or $262. Buy tonight, do store pickup and they will hold it for 4 days.

First ever grill on the camp chef griddle. Doing some hibachi chicken, steak, and shrimp with fried rice. Some veggies and using some teriyaki sauce for the meat. Nothing crazy, made some garlic butter for the rice. Little soy and teriyaki in the rice and it should be good.

Grill flashed on me tonight. The flame caught in the bottom right, but didn’t spread through the gas tree and wasn’t enough to ignite the entire burner.

Opened it noticing it wasn’t at temp, opened the lid and gas in the lid ignited. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Left forearm is hairless, mild burn, eyebrows groomed. Coulda been worse.

Again, dumb dumb dumb. Complacency leads to injury. Be safe out there folks.

    Ordering system rebuild parts now.

    Looks really good!

I’ve become a huge convert to brining overnight before grilling. Dry brining steak just makes it juicy!
Wet brining chicken retains more juice! Makes white meat tolerable!

I can’t believe i never knew about this

    This thread does two things:

    1: It makes me want a grill/smoker.

2: It makes me wish I knew what the hell to do with a grill if I had one.

It's amazing what I see you guys making on your grills.

Get a pellet grill/smoker. It is as easy as it gets. You can google recipes if you want to, or you can just throw some meat on there with a basic salt & pepper or rub and 'set it and forget it'. You can't mess it up and then it can only get better from there on.
