    Hello everyone,

I have a 2016 limited truck, and I wanted the factory LED DRL under the headlight. I came here to share my experience of opening up my housings as most post's I have read, everyone experiences something different or learns something different while doing so to hopefully share with the rest of our people here.

I have an electric oven, these are the settings that worked for me:
-210 degrees (wait for preheat to go off)
-Air/speed bake to circulate the air in the oven (if your oven has this option, some do not)
    -15 mins bake time
    -cardboard on the rack
-housing was put in lens down

Something I realized after getting them apart was using an exacto knife or something there of to cut the permaseal that lapped to the outside between the lense and the housing. I watched a guy on youtube use a flat head screwdriver and that's what I used and also a paint can opener to work the glue loose, but a knife blade would give a cleaner seal break I believe.

    Headlight Open.jpg

I have more updates to come, I will keep this updated as this project progresses.

Yes, I can stand for them to be open for a while, these are the spare set I purchased off a guy with a platinum that replaced his with the '18 LED ones. Only gave $175 for them. I haven't decided forsure if I want to put projectors or not. I talked about it for a while but I'm still not sure. I know I'm going to do the BHLM like @graves037 did on one of the sets he had, I dropped the link below to his light build. I also purchased the clear corner reflectors from klearz.com as I cant stand the orange reflectors. I will get more pics this afternoon. I'm kinda new to the projector stuff but I'm still not opposed to doing them if anyone has any info they would like to share with me about them.

Yo bro! Nice job! If ya have any questions regarding projectors, I can probably answer them. I strongly recommend them. I did exactly as you did, opened my lights up, painted, then resealed. Only to open them back up and add projectors. The light output is incredible, and have awesome cutoff.

So I guess I should start by asking Which projectors are the best to use. I'm usually an ebay and Amazon guy and I don't mind using cheap product and doing extra work myself. But the projector game is all new to me. I really want Green Halo's but I have not found much info on anyone that tells what they bought or used for me to even search for parts.

They have everything you need. Some projectors will be easier to install than others.

I would definitely do projectors. I have Profiles in my retrofits. No comparison to the OEMs

I know they have everything needed but trying to read through that stuff is like Spanish to me. Id rather buy something that comes with everything needed together because I don't know what fits what, or what all is truly needed to complete the set. Nor does the info tell you, its like you have to already know everything you're looking for before you go to their website.

Yo man. Go to theretrofitsource.com. Look up projector retrofit kits, grab the Acme kit. On that page, you can choose your halos, the main harness (which will make everything pretty much plug and play), and the shrouds, which are the covers around the projector. It’s inexpensive, and good products. That’s seriously all you need. I can help with hooking up halos or anything else you go with, or there’s actually a write up on here for both building retrofits and hooking them up. Do a little homework, they’re worth it.

This is what your page will look like. You’ll need to order the halos separately if you want green ones. You can change the shrouds, use google to see what they look like.

Thanks guy, I will look into it some more, I have did quite a bit of homework on it too. What about LED bulbs, can those be used instead of HID's? not a big fan of HID's anymore now that I've had both.
