Gonna stick with 35s for now. How are you liking the OME suspension? I was told it was the best for our trucks. Ride quality? Any issues?

None. Better than stock. 37s fit bcs of front bumper, Lift, aggressive BMC, removal of front sway bar.

What brand of rack/rtt is that? I’m looking to add an rtt to my rig and, like you, I’d like to put the rtt on the cab. I have a SnugTop Rebel and I know it’s not rated to support the weight of an rtt and 2 people.

ARE Z Series. If I had to do it again I’d opt for the ARE that’s got a better weight rating.

I’m on 37x12.5x18 stocker wheels with 1” spacers up front for uca clearance. No clearance issues with the BMC and aftermarket bumpers. Not too sure what the offset works out too... +25?? I’m on regular old OME kit. Same idea for height though.

I'm curious if anyone with BP51's had to add carrier bearing drop kit? I have OME BP51's with Dakar leafpacks, and am getting slight vibration off the line after install. ARB seemed to think I would not need a drop kit but my experience has proved otherwise. Have the coachbuilder kit on order and should be installing this week. Interested to hear other's experiences.

What did you end up doing? Will be installing BP51's all 'round with the Dakar leafpacks as soon as my 2021 CrewMax Offroad Premium lands, which should hopefully be within 3-4 weeks.

I installed Coachbuilder 3-5" carrier bearing drop kit. I initially ordered the 2" but it still had a wobble at low RPMS. If anyone is interested in a 2" drop spacer, I'll give you a good deal!

I would also recommend ordering a greaseable front pivot from OME. The kit comes with a greaseable rear pivot for the shackles, but for some odd reason the front went unattended, and you are left re-using the factory bolt that came with the leafs. Not a big deal, but if I were to do it over, I'd spend the extra dough (40-60 bucks maybe???) and install it while everything is apart.

Also, you'll want to plan ahead and decide if you want to keep the OEM leaf bushings, or hammer them out and use the yellow OME leaf bushings. That was a game time decision for me that was not clearly spelled out in the instruction manual. I went with OME, and used an impact socket and a 3 lb sledge to hammer out the old non-greaseable factory bushings.

...also, really happy with the lift. I had a chance to test it out in the black rock desert this past week and it performs awesome in all types of terrain. Pic shown is with fresh Method 703's and Falken

Hello! Got some questions for you BP51 guys...

    1. Did you need to install a spacer or shim for the driver’s side to correct the lean? Or is the left spring taller?
    2. How is it holding up long term? Has anyone had to have their BP51s rebuilt yet?
    3. Did you land at 2-2.5” of lift all the way around? That’s what I’m looking for. I want to keep the rake for towing/hauling.

    Thanks!

    1) I have never noticed a lean with mine, no spacer added for me.
    2) Has been great so far. I have ~10k on the front, and 5k miles on the rear susp. I know thats not long term, but regardless no issues.
    3) I didn't take before and after measurements, but that sounds about right. My gut tells be its prob closer to 3" on the rear with the dakar leaf packs. Rake has definitely been preserved.

I just had BP-51 installed on my Tundra and now have vibration about 1500~2100 rpms from stop under load like medium throttle flat or up hill. Did anyone have shims added to the rear leaf springs to keep the rear pinion angle the same as stock? I tried to see if it was balanced with my phone and it said there is a .4 degree difference in the pinion angle and the front shaft. FWIW the truck is brand new under 2000mi and most of those were highway miles.

Did you add a carrier bearing drop kit? I had something similar I discussed above.

It was not installed with the BP-51s or any shims. I did try dropping it 3/4" and it was no better so I put it back the way it left the shop and will be back there next week to have them fix it. I went by my local Toyota dealer in the meantime for them to take a quick look at it and they said in order for them to do anything under warranty the entire lift kit would have to be removed and all of the factory parts installed. I am trying to stay calm but it does suck to have a brand new truck I probably shouldn't drive. Luckly driving to the shop that put it in is mostly highway miles, where it seems to be ok. Next Friday hopefully will be fixed so I can keep moving forward with the build.

Just got back from the shop that did the BP-51 install and they tried different carrier bearing drops and shims and combos and nothing helped. I am convinced that the install itself was done right and the lift is not the problem. I will be looking into a driveshaft specialist. There was a slight feeling before the install and the increased angles just seem to be amplifying something that was not really a problem but now is. I should have had the problem in the Toyota dealer computers before the lift but it was so slight it seemed overly nit picky on my part. I gotta get this sorted so I can get ripping around on some mountain dirt roads and give these BP-51s a go. I think they are going to be awesome in the end. Minor setback that is all.

Can anyone tell me the reason to go with the Dakar rear leaf pack versus what comes with the BP51 kit??

the dakars DO come in the bp51 kit. The Add a leaf is optional. I regret not doing it from the start. I’ll be adding it soon

So now that you mention this, I also found out theres a lean on my tundra , I've had the ome bp51 kit for almost 2 years now and love them . I had to adjust coilovers before installing because I have a winch bumper but a couple weeks ago I took it for an alignment and was told it was leaning. I still haven't figured out what exactly is the problem because my coilovers are in the exact same threads .. the front driver side is slightly lower by about 3/4" than the passenger front . I really haven't checked the rear but yeah some of you who have this kit may want to get a tape measure.
