DC Universe / Marvel Universe

So who on here is our comic book / comic movie buff??? I'm watching the new Shazam! movie, so I looked up, and Google tells me that Shazam! Is Captain Marvel???? I understand that's DC Universe and Capitan Marvel is Marvel Universe, isn't that wrong for using names like that??? I'm no comic book buff and I'm barely understanding the Marvel Universe movies, as I just saw Avengers Endgame, anyone shocked that Captain America gave up his title? Was shocked that Iron Man died, was hoping that everyone would come back, so what's your universe? Who's your favorite character?

 

Huge fan. The Hulk! (Though story wise... guardians of the galaxy, is my favorite)

 

I think this is right. They both had a Captain Marvel. DC’s said Shazam to turn into him. Marvels was just Captain Marvel. For a while both used the name then Marvel had a settlement with DC to keep the name. So DC changed the name to Shazam
