    Another member from Sac area here. Been on the forum for a year now but I don't think I've signed up for NorCal roll call. I've been spending a lot of time playing out at Folsom lake lately - there are some fun areas to drive around in the sand and rocks.

    Hello everyone. My name is Edsel. I'm stationed at Hunter-Liggett for the next year(or so... probably longer) New to the area and to wheeling in general. Just bought a 2016 SR5 with TRD off-road package. Definitely looking forward to the future build of the truck and hopefully wheeling with some of you.

    I'm on a 6112 at 2" lift up front, i want to get some nitto ridge grapplers, or Toyo Open Country MT's, but since my factory tires still have a bunch of life left (only have 17k on the odo), i cant justify dropping $1200 on tires.
    i came across this post for some trail grapplers.....dirt cheap!

    From the picts it does not look like there is a lot of tread left. Might be OK for the (dry) summer months but I would worry about them in the rain or snow. And definitely not enough tread if you want to take your truck off-road.

    Do you know how many miles are on them?

    I emailed the seller and asked him. Yeah it doesn't look like much tread. Not doing any offroading other than the occasional gravel road.

    True. Seems like a good deal. I dont drive the truck much, so i could probably get a couple years out of them.

    Not sure if they're gonna have any rubbing....anyone know?

    There are a number factors as to wether the tires will rub. I ran 35's on a 2" lift with no rubbing and no cmc. Wheels were a +25 offset and I have an aftermarket front bumper. If you are running the stock TRD wheels (+60 offset) then 295's should fit with minimal work like removing the front mud flap, maybe pushing the front liner forward and maybe removing the mud flap behind the front tire. All trucks are a little different so there is no hard and fast rule. A buddy of mine had a 3" lift with 295's and was rubbing the cab mount where as I cleared the cab mount with larger tires and a smaller lift.

    295/70's look great. When I first lifted the front 2" I went with 33's and soon after regretted not going for the 295/70s.

    Thanks! i'm game for removing the mud flap, but definatly dont want to go down the cmc route.
    I'll see what the seller says....for $100, i may roll the dice.

    $100 is a small amount to pay to see if something works or not. (It was totally suck to spend $1200 on tires and then find out you could not make them fit.)

    @GiantsFanDan @sr5shark
    Just heard back from the seller, he said: No repairs, 40% tread left, and they are worn evenly.

    I'm not sure about 40% left.....i asked him how many miles he put on them.
    edit: he said he put 30k on them.

    edit2: I decided to pass on the tires. I just plastidip'd my wheels a month ago. They will get messed up no matter how careful the installer is. I feel like i'll probabbly only get 1 year out of the tires (not much tread left). I'll just wait for a good deal on some new ones.
