Once you go black you never go back.
I have to stop reading these threads. I just sold my 2005 tundra that I had for 14 years and put 280k miles on and never had a single problem. Now I'm driving around in my new Tundra waiting for the thing to crumble to pieces as I drive down the road.

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.
I might be having the same bed creak. I haul by drums often from gig to gig, with a hardware rack laying down and strapped to the cab tiedowns fore and aft. I thought maybe it was something loose, or when the hardware isn't there, maybe it was the buckle straps hanging from the cleats, but now I'm not so sure. I would think it would make the noise over or bump and turn, but it will do it once and then nothing after similar bumps/turns, but then will do it again miles down the road. I'll to get everything out of the bed and see if it still happens.

Add one more to the terrible bed squeak. ‘18 w/26k miles. Only change was to 5160 and it did it before completely stock. Lame!
Sounds as bad as my neighbors 12 year old beat Dodge 2500.

lol you are not buying a Rolls Royce, or even a Mercedes. The pictures you show are incredibly nit picky, and saying "Toyota interior is superior quality" is downright hilarious! Granted both are prob similar mass produced junk, but go sit in a F150 King Ranch, Platinum or Limited then go sit in a Tundra. You cannot compare the two, the tundra is a joke. Not to mention how noisy and uncomfortable it is.

NICE! I did too, deleted the sunroof, added a few things (701a), picked my own locking rear, and the 5.0.

Sure, those trucks are nice but the cheapest one (KR with nothing added) is $6k more than a 1794. How does a $65k CAD 1794 compare to a $65k CAD Lariat instead?

We all know toyota is behind the big 3 in terms of interior and technology and payload and towing and mpg. Why do people still buy tundras ummm because they are way more reliable than the those eco pussy.. F150 recalls are ridiculous ask everyone at the dealership who works their they will never owned a eco boost to many problems and towing mpg is the worst even worst than a tundra. To me personally buying a top of the the line f150 like a king ranch is probably the worst idea anybody can make. I mean think about resale value in 2 years that truck your paying 65,000 ++ right now will cut in half in 2 years thats crazy from a business stand point. Im more business oriented in the things i buy and i think about the future and how will affect me long term. So thats why i bought a tundra couple years ago and its priced actually more than what i bought it for. Well i did get a really good deal, It had 90,000 on it and in perfect condition i got it for 11,000 out the door. tundras has the best resale value in the market period. No one can argue that. Yes the big 3 has more technology and maybe more power if the the 5.7 is stock. But i have long tubes and tune would smoke any eco boost. Back to the subject the big 3 is definitely better at almost everything compared to the tundra. But they all forgot one thing longevity and relablity if they all had that tundra would be no more. If actually use your truck for work get a tundra. If you use your truck to go to a meeting everyday get a f150 or raptor just my 2 cents.;)

As long as he got 11% off MSRP and a $3,000 rebate he ought to be able to trade for a 19 or 20 quite reasonably.

Sounds like he needs to trade it in, go buy an F150. Sit in it and stroke his chode. Drive it for a month then have to take it into the shop because of a recall then cry himself to sleep @B737

Good luck and safe travels. When the newness wears off and the recalls start to appear. Then pop back here and let us know if it is worth the move.

    Afraid not.

That is the overheated transmission list for 2019 half ton trucks.

75 out of every 100 Tundras baked the clutches.

Congrats! Love the PW look and offroad capability. Not for me because as 3/4 ton, it's not great towing option. And man, those things look like they have trouble fitting in parking spaces, even at home depot. But love that as a "big" truck.

My 2 cents. I have lived all over the world and have settled here in the High desert. Toyotas are everywhere. The local Ford dealer has a service manager that has driven his Tundra for more than 10 years. They don't like the fact that he parks it across the street when he comes into work, but he will not relent. There is even one of the other service guys that drives a 4Runner. I wonder what they know......?
