I have a 8,000 lb toyhauler and tow with a weight distribution hitch. Thinking of trying Roadmasters. Anyone have experience (good or bad) with them?

I don't have any personal experience with them as far as towing goes, but I have installed several sets of them. A coworker has them on an F-150 that we installed 3+ years ago and he's been very happy with them. Very easy to install and adjust. They will add a bit of rake to your truck.

I put them on my 13, about 4 years ago. I really like them besides helping with the trailer weight they also give sway control, with more articulation, and act like traction bars.

I put them on my 18, big improvement with ride of the truck, big difference in pulling my travel trailer (positive).

I just installed them 2019 cm limited 4wd to tow keystone 32 ft . about 7000 lbs. Helps with rear end squat for sure. I'm happy with them.

Can anyone post a picture of them on the Tundra? I'm interested in this solution for my TRD Pro.

I tried and liked them for all of the reasons stated above, but I replaced them with air bags mainly for the adjustability.

took me about an hour, have pulled my 30ft travel trailer and a 20ft low boy ( not together ) with 2 side by sides on it, definitely a big difference since the install.

I installed them on my 19 cm. Pull a 32 ft tt. about 7000 lbs. Also use weight dis. hitch. I think they help quite a bit. Also ride quality empty doesn't seem to be affected much. It did raise height on the rear about 3/4 inch.

Any fear that they will hit the frame if bottomed out? Did you set them at the 1mm or 2mm?

I have a set laying in the garage because I went to bags. If your tongue weight is consistent they are great. My TH black and grey water are in front of the axles so after boondocking too much weight would transfer forward and cause an additional 1"-2" squat that would drag on rocks. Bags allow more adjustability.

I installed them on my 2017 Tundra Platinum for towing my 2019 Escape 5th Wheel. I use the Anderson hitch and a B&W Turnover ball. The B&W bracket used the same holes on the frame that Firestone Airbags needed so I went looking for a different solution.

The Roadmaster fit the bill and I am really pleased with them. At first I was skeptical of all the claims on the Roadmaster web site but after towing over 10,000 miles, all the claims are true! Since the primary use of my Tundra is towing my rig, it was pretty easy to dial in the correct adjustment for my 600 Lbs pin weight. (The GVW of the Trailer is 5,500 Lbs) Now everything tows nice and level and much smoother than the air bags I used to have on my 2014 Taco towing a pull behind. Note: I also added a TRD sway bar. Rig is super stable and easy to pull.

The installation hardware on these is much nicer than what it was 10+ years ago, very nice.

I am installing on 2017 Tundra DC. Directions say you have to remove side of shackle to install the eye bracket.....true? Was hoping if I disassembled the bracket from the threaded rod, I might be able to get the hook on the bracket over the spring eye. I am currently towing my 32ft TT with GVWR of 8495 lbs with Equalizer WDH almost level and am installing the Roadmasters to mainly help with sway. I really don't want to change the non-towing ride height as some have indicated occurs. Intend to install using the 20% disc - will I still see a lift in the rear?

Interesting. I have 2018 DC Limited 4x4 and I installed the same hitch and it didn't interfere with installing Firestone airbags. I wouldn't think yours being a crew cab and mine being a double cab would change the B&W bracket. Nice trailer!

Buckaroo - yes, I had to remove the side bracket to install. The curve of the hook prevents it from going over the eye bracket. The clearance is too tight. It has to be installed from the side. If it was me, I would use the 40% 2-mil disc and adjust the WDH accordingly. I saw about a 3/4 " rise in the back end when unloaded. ...and with a 5th wheel, I was after a level load. My pin weight is about 600 lbs so that gives you an idea of what the 40% disc will handle.

KMG - Thanks! It is super stable and we hardly know it is back there. It is the perfect rig for our style of camping. The over all length bumper to bumper is 38'. Since the hitch pivot point is almost centered, it is really easy to get in and out of most gas stations, etc. Also the compact size opens up more campground options.
