They say it can't be done, but anything is possible. Or maybe convince me to get smaller tires.

Does anyone have experience doing this? I'd like to use my TRD 18" wheels. I'm not afraid of some trimming and shimming, but don't feel comfortable with cutting and welding like the BMC.

    THANKS!

No welding or cutting is required. No wheels spacers are needed. I fit LT285/75R18 on stock wheels and all I did was raise the front by about 1.5".

That's exactly the look I'm going for! Do you think it would have worked without the 1.5" lift? Or do you think a coachbuilder 1" shim would be enough lift?

I might just have to put the tires on and then go from there . . . .

I have stock leaf springs and shackles in the rear; no lift is required in the rear. The wheel wells are large enough to fit a 34/35" tire (depending on lift), you'll just have to raise the front slightly.

Yes, as long as they are not wider than 285mm you should be fine. This may also vary depending on the shoulder lugs the manufacturer molded into the tire (Toyo M/T or Nitto Mud Grappler tires stick out more than my A/T tread). I have the SPC arms which stick further out than stock and there has been no interference while cycling the suspension while turning at full lock.

I used King 2.5 coilovers but much cheaper shocks could also be used.

I'm running 295/70/18 with no lift. Tire can rub skid plate at full lock. Little trimming could possibly fix that. I plan to lift/level but had to put these on due to a road hazards on stock 20's.

Here ya go. I'd say there's about 1/4" to the control arm. I tried my 1-1/2" wheel spacers but rubbing would be alot worse on the outside of the tires.

This looks mighty good. I said I'd wait to buy new tires as the truck is brand new as of Saturday, but I'm enjoying the look/size of the tire on the TRD rims. Got the TRD package (suspension upgrade). Think this will work with these tires? Not sure of your setup exactly.

Also was going to upgrade the UCAs just because I had JBAs on my jeep and loved them. But for the time being is it necessary with your setup? Also how bad of a hit did you take to your MPG and power? Ive never gone up in tire size without regearing but dont know if I want to pay for all that yet.

I'm running 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the stock TRD OR wheels. I put Bilstein 6112's up front on the 1.9" setting. I had to trim the skid plate just a little as the tires rubbed on full lock but that's it.

My truck is stock height. I have the TRD Sport package. To my knowledge,, our trucks should be the same height. Just cruising I've lost about 2-3 mpg, but I'm still enjoying hearing my BAMuffler. Power loss doesn't feel that much because I don't push the truck hard all the time. Regearing I don't think it's necessary with these tires. They are heavy though.

just my opinion, but those 18's look sooo much better than the 20's! Still surprised you could fit them on stock trds without any lift/spacers. Think it's just the specific tire design? I'd love to hear from someone with Nitto RGs or any other brand/models.

Did you notice a significant drop in MPG going to the beefier tire? I'm on the 275/65/18 with the same TRD wheels and even my wife thinks they look a little flimsy. But my current driving is already about 12mpg commuting (15-16 highway) and would hate for that to suffer much more...

They're quiet, durable, and do well off-road except in thick mud. The tread wear is also great. I would highly recommend them unless you need a more aggressive tire.

@Kurdt. Do you have a front and side pic of your Tundra you can post? I noticed you blacked out the front and rear bumper. Did you use Plastidip? What did you do with the grille? I have the same Tundra in Cement

here is a front and rear view. I took the bumper caps off and had them powder coated. It costs less than the plastic bumper cap overlays you can buy, and looks better IMO. However it does take more effort and time.
I did not do anything with the grill itself, but purchased a hood bulge and surround in cement color and replaced those.

Thanks buddy. So just to understand this correctly. You had a chrome bumper caps and you had them poderp coated ? Also, did you buy the hood buldge and the surround with out the grill or did the surround come with the grille? Do you buy the surround and the buldge painted already or did you have to paint it ? If you bought them painted already, does the color match perfectly? Thanks buddy for the help .I'm buying to get rid of the chrome and any input will help
