I just purchased a 2016 SR5 Tundra and worked a leveling kit into the deal. I attached a pic of the spacers they will use. I heard from another Tundra guy that these won't hold an alignment. I talked to the salesman he said not to worry if it wasnt quality they would not use it. Anyone have any experience with the factory levelers? Thank you!

Definitely not a factory item. The only leveled truck that comes from the factory is the PRO which comes with a longer coilover/shock to increase the front end height. Spacers generally are not the best for leveling but if you do not off road, you will be fine. More than likely, the dealer will install a fabtec spacer kit (cheapest way of doing it).

I won't be doing any real offroading I don't think, just the occasional trek to the hunting spot or fishing hole nothing major. If it'll hold up to that I think it will be ok.

From what I've seen at my dealer they use a silver 2in. puck for their leveling.

ReadyLift is a popular one. I can attest to "pushing that bad boy to it's limits" and it actually held up nicely. This is coming from someone who almost indo'ed his 2015 with less than 100 miles on it. Needless to say, I use my truck for truck purposes. You'll be solid with the level. but if you go that route and are going to upgrade your tires, MAKE SURE TO ROTATE THEM when you're supposed to. Aside from that, you'll be good man.

Bilstein has a really nice PDF article on spacer lifts which explain them very well. They are basically do the same thing as a Bilstein 5100. I'll post it up

Essentially, what it is saying is that location for the shock is designed and engineered around the stock length shock. You are putting a 2" spacer on top of the shock then shoving it back in that same spot. This in turn pushes your suspension down (lifting the vehicle) and causes the vehicle to ride at full droop/near full droop. This causes the ride quality to really suffer and causes premature wear on components. Since the suspension is pushed down and the factory bumpstop is not also spaced down, when you compress the suspension it continues to travel up farther than it should so it can cause damage to the shock as well.

Even if you aren't "off roading" even rough street driving can damage the shock. We have had many Tundras towed in with snapped shocks because of these spacer lifts.

we have seen this on more than one occasion. Spacer lifts are junk.
